John thanks for the response. Keep me posted. You have my paypal account info.

Welcome to the board. You should meet another board member: Hondasucks.

You can always try my XT6 if you want. It is FAST! I averaged over 90 mph on the AlCan.
-
Thanks. I saw the log in and PM to you. That's what got me thinking he was on-line.

Rear seats in brumby/brats?
northguy replied to marshy's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
They are available -check e-bay. I have a set with the frame and seatbelts and head rests, but the shipping would be cost-prohibitive. -
Calling John Bloom (again)
northguy replied to NoahDL88's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Well, Veterans day has come and gone and still no word from you John, despite the e-mails and PM's I have sent. I even PM'd you a few minutes ago when you were on-line and still no answer. I certainly hope this was just an oversight on your part and you're not blowing me off. I would surely appreciate some open communication. -
John, why don't you respond. I have sent you e-mails, and private messages. I saw you on-line a few minutes ago and sent you another PM. You have always said not to worry, you're an honest guy, but it seems loke you're blowing me off. I hope that is not the case. Open communication is the first step forward in honesty.

Welcome to the board. If you want power, look at a transplant. If you're happy with the power plant you have, follow Austin's sage advise. He's been around ea81's enough to steer you in the right direction. Also, look at Mcbrat's homepage. You'll be impressed. -
It's probably more the driver than the car that accounts for success there.

I second that notion.

this ever happened to your soob?
northguy replied to Urabus-84HBDR's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I had the local H.S. boys in shop class replace the pads on a car once only to be driving down the road and hear a terrible scraping, whining sound. It seems they forgot to put the pin back in that holds the brake caliper in place. Never again. -
Try buying a $2 can of belt dressing and see if it's your fan belt slipping. If so, tighten the fan belt and wheel on.

Thanks for the heads up. No antifreeze added lately.

We can take a look at it in December. I found an engine hoist today for $159. It looks like it'll do the job quite nicely. Thanks for the input.

Last Sunday I replaced my fan belt around the pulleys on my 89 XT6 as the old one was worn out - lots of squealing. Everything seemed good, but the same day I noticed steam coming out from under the hood. Popped the hood and there is a small leak around the plastic timing belt cover on the left side (as you face the motor), but I can't locate a visible leak at the headgasket or anywhere else on the motor. From underneath, I can see a visible drip on the block just below the plastic cover. Any notions as to where this could be coming from? Is there anything beneath the plastic cover that could be leaking? It's more than circumstantial that the belt change and leak happened at the same time. Related issues?

Anger isn't going to get me my money back. But in the process, over 2,500 people have read this post, and over 4,000 people have read the other one. One day the money will come. John has always claimed to be honest. He has said "don't worry. You'll get your money back." I trust he's honest. I trust he'll come through. I don't think he's a thief. I don't think he's a bad guy. I just want my money. I don't think that's unreasonable.

I wish I could go. Have fun - send pictures. -
John, do you have any idea when you may pay me back the $720 you owe me? An open line of communication is the first step forward to trust and sincerity. I await your response.

Listen to Snowman; he is the Wiseman of the desert (this week).
