Damn Moosey, I'm bringing crab legs. I guess I won't have to bring as much now. Also, just checking to make sure you received my money, Dr. I sent it months ago and want to make sure I'm prepaid. -

please answer fast - what carb it this?
northguy replied to moshem74's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I'd pass on it. If you need a new carb, send out some feelers here. You'll find one here cheaper than on ebay, and the people here are more trustworthy. -
You seem to make a case for an extra trip, but why incur the extra expense and the lost time (unless you just enjoy riding long distances and waiting in lines at airports). I say trailer it and cast aside your doubts in your car. It's a good car and it'll do fine. Just take it easy, don't be in a big hurry. Enjoy one trip instead of hating two.

SVX LSi
northguy replied to SaV72's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
Try visiting the svxworld.net site and looking in the FAQ section or using their search mode. Transmissions are a frequent problem, it seems, with that model. -
The bolts in mine are some special head design, probably meant to pass some D.O.T. restrictions. I am not sure of the size and thread coarseness.

The seats bolt onto a frame. The frame is generally welded into the bed.

Where and when?

The city is fine, it's just some of the people who are lowlifes. I leave the keys in my Brat at my house. I also have a full compliment of firearms readily available.
-
Start with "What do you need for them?", and the response is then, "What are you willing to pay?"With that stage of the discussion over, call a junk yard and get a quote there. You can even go on line and find prices and availability of said parts.

That would be Snowman coming from Haines. I have to fly, but if I find a car worth buying, I'll be driving back. Does that count? -
reverse lights after 5spd d/r swap
northguy replied to Tin Soldier's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I figured it out in about 15 minutes. I cut the wires on the old plug to the tranny and used a continuity tester to find the two you need to form the circuit. You do this by leaving the key turned on and putting the car in reverse (no motor running, please). Once you know which two are the circuit, it's jst a matter of plugging them into the new plug on the tranny until you get reverse lights to light up. If you use a systematic approach, you'll find which two are the circuit. After that, you can splice in the old receiver plug on the new tranny. It's not all that difficult.
