  1. Now that you have it off, braze a treble hook to its mouth and tie on a piece of stout monofilament that can run into the trunk. It'll look cool when remounted.
  2. Norbert, you can put Legacy seats (not sure about Impreza seats) in with very little modifications. There is a template on the site. Do a search for it. It's in the repair manual section, I believe.
  3. My mechanic has an EA81 powered airboat. It's the cat's meow.
  4. If it's paid for, it's not costing you anything. Keep it. It'll cost more to rplace it later.
  5. FWIW, the engine noise (roar) is louder on mine after the swap. I have different problems with mine than yours sounds like, but be patient and tinker with it when you find time. It'll all work out with time and then you'll be happy you made the exchange.
  6. What a double whammy. But I get a feeling there'll be another church opening in the future. Once you've "testified" it's hard to get it out of your system. Good luck at work over the next few days.
  7. That's a sweet looking SVX. Are you going to have it at the show? (I know you said you'd be there).
  8. Welcome to the board. Lots of other WA folks around. Going to WCSS7?
  9. I don't know. I'll ask him. I was putting out a feeler for him. It is an unmodified set up. All original. Dave Miller (Dave Miller's Subaru in Eagle River, AK) is one of the best subbie mechanics in the state, and he's a straight up guy.
  10. My mechanic has a EA81 complete. Comes with dual carb manifold and carbs... everthing intact and ready to go. Also has lots of extra goodies for it. I'm just throwing out a feeler and can bring pics and real data to WCSS if anyone is interested.
  11. You can buy a JDM for under 500, and Calebz probably can tell you where to get one from a boneyard locally for even cheaper. If the body isn't rusted too badly, drop in a used motor and keep moving.
  12. You might try replacing the fuel lines from the filter to the carb. There might be just enough crap in one of them to cause you fits.
  13. I tried for 5 months to change my rear shocks on my Brat. I pulled on the nut and yanked, got a pipe for my breaker bar, swore, threatened did everything but pull a gun on the nut and it still wouldn't break loose. One day, I tried the bolt side, and it came out sweet as pie. The nut side was welded in place. Try all options.
  14. $175 is cheap. I'd be leery about the quality of work at that price.
  15. I don't see a single Brat in the whole line up.
  16. Welcome to the board. There's a lot of good info here.
  17. Welcome to the board. Keep the oil changed and run it to death.
  18. Nice score. If you decide to part it out, I'm sure Snowman would want the LSD.
  19. The ever-coveted tailgate trim for a gen 2 Brat.
  20. Here's a deal for you Paul - you promise to show for WCSS7 and I'll bring down a case (20 lbs.) and we can eat until you can't hold any more.
  21. PM me your address and maybe you'll get some silver salmon. Crab legs (large red king crab legs are about $13 a lb. - but the shipping is insane).
