  1. Between you and Kelly, there's not much that can't be done with these cars/engines. Keep up the good work.
  2. There's a Brat on the marketplace for sale now - around 1200 or so, I believe.
  3. I registered, but I didn't register a vehicle. All I need is a campsite.
  4. I'm stoked. Now I'll get to meet the people behind the personalities on the board.
  5. Looks good, and thee are worse people to emulate.
  6. Welcome to the board. You can frquent both the old and new generation side of the forums with your two rides.
  7. Jerry, the 5 speed is a major improvement, and the shift kit went in pretty slick. We had to make a couple of minor modifications but other than that, things went smoothly. I put one of the shifter linkages in backwards and it hit the driveline in 5th gear, but that was an easy remedy. It looks completely stock. Too sweet, Jerry. Thyanks again. Definitely worth the little extra you charge to have the end result look as good as your kit makes my Brat look.
  8. Local shop did it for $130. It is much better than trying to weld in the carrier bearing on the ea82 2 piece shaft.
  9. A huge thanks to Snowman for his help and expertise this weekend as we (mostly Kelly) installed a 5spd d/r, new 1 piece driveshaft and LSD in my 83 Brat. I still have to figure out some linkage anomolies but it seems to work well. Thanks again Kelly. I couldn't have done it without your help.
  10. I do. Just spent 2 days in it replacing tranny, driveline and LSD. (you might move this to the new gen forum for better results).
  11. Make sure the plunger (blade) actually is in the slot in the tranny.
  12. And save the beer until you're done. It'll go much smoother, and you won't drop the car on your head.
  13. I couldn't have stumped everyone on the board with this simple question, could I? It must be that everyone is busy with other things, like trying to figure out how to get even with Zap for his (really good) prank today. Hats off to you Eric. But I really could use the number if someone has it handy.
  14. Excellent. See you here. I'll have the coffe on, and I'll swap you some stickers for a thermos.
  15. Jon wanted to do his this weekend, but he's been bounced again (for obvious reasons), so, if you want to tackle mine, I'm up for it. I've got everything I can think of except some tranny gear oil. Saturday morning around 8:00 or so would work well for me. Let me know how your schedule looks.
  16. For me, it would be AIH (Alaska Industrial Hardware). I haven't checked out Lowes or Home Depot, but I would want to get hardened bolts.
  17. Is there a specific amount of torque that I need to apply to the bolts of the cap on a rear differential for an ea81? If so, could you clue me in, please?
  18. Sounds like a good time, for a great cause, hosted by good people. Wish I were closer.
