  1. PM Mudrat79. He makes an adaptor for the ej and d/r 5spd. He might be able to do you some good. But you'd be better off with the d/r 5spd.
  2. If you have 200k on it, I wouldn't invest a lot of time or money on it. But the "right" way of fixing rust is to cut it out and weld in new metal. Replacement fenders are relatively inexpensive compared to labor time and costs. My .02
  3. I'd say! Glad to see you made it without a hitch.
  4. Let us learn to temper our inflamatory remarks. If it got moved to the marketplace, that's because it is where it belongs. I read the thread as it progressed, and yes, it did sound a bit accusatory, but the new seller seemed to handle it well. I think all will work out in the end and no one will be the worse off for it.
  5. That's a third of a century! Congrats. Hope you're feeling better.
  6. That was a strong brew - fresh ground French roast brewed extra rich. Figured it would come in handy. Glad to see your trip went well. I'll look for you on the return. Call if you have problems.
  7. Kelly is planning to drive Roxanne down, but I'll have to fly in due to work. But I am planning on being there. Work will just have to wait. If I can find a good deal on a car just before I come down, maybe I'll drive back. I really liked the drive (albeit a long one) the last time I came down.
  8. OOPS! I went to pick up the topper this morning and low and behold, it was for a Gen 1 Brat. (Stupid canopy dealers - "You mean there's more than one type of Brat?") So I'm sorry, but I have to renege on the offer. If I see one available, I'll nab it for your roomie.
  9. Welcome to the board. Too bad you're so far away. I've got an extra motor and tranny sitting under my porch ready to go.
  10. You might check out the thread that edrach wrote a while back. Good stuff. Have you looked at the USRM?
  11. Wow, that's a shame. I feel bad for the guy's family, especially the bro who responded right under the posting. Makes me appreciate living up here.
  12. It's in the USRM under interior. It's written by Gravityman. Good stuff (pardon the pun).
  13. Torxxx, looks like I really missed out. Hey, I bought a new canopy for my Brat. If your roomie is interested in my old one, he can have it for free. It's still in good shape, but the shocks that hold the door open are worn out and I couldn't find any replacements. But it'll keep that Fairbanks snow out of the back of his Brat, and some of the stuff that almost flew out on the video inside. Let me know.
  14. I hope it works out,but frankly I think you're wasting your time.
  15. Welcome to the board. What are you risking for $500? Buy it.
  16. There's a great write up (a do-it-yourself project) with excellent pictures in the archives.
  17. Used car dealers get them monthly. See if any one local has an old one around.
  18. I took an EA82 shaft in to have it mdified into a solid shaft and was told it wouldn't work as the diameter of the front piece and back piece are different. The ea 82 is already 51" long between the 2 knuckles, so it is probably a different length than an ea 81.
  19. Oops. Thanks for the correction, but if Zap is selling it (and I can afford it) I may be interested as I know it'll make it back up the Alcan. And what a better reason to come down for the WCSS?
  20. Welcome to the board. Please tell us what you're driving. Love to know what we're missing out on (lucky overseas Subaru owners).
  21. Happy birthday, Paul. Being born this close to St. Pattty's day is no coincidence.
  22. You wouldn't be looking to sell that Legacy Sedan say in July, would you?
