Any short in the electrical system could cause, especially a grounding problem, aninterruption of electrical flow to the plugs. Check the grounds. -
finding tires for 84 wagon 4x4
northguy replied to 1bignose's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The easiest way is to get a set of 14" pugeout rims. But watch out for clearance problems. Do a search on lifts and look at the write up on tires for off-roading that Zap put together. Good stuff. -
So, what did it set you back?

Ignition/fuel cut...on stock boost
northguy replied to WJM's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Is there a possibility of a partially clogged fuel filter or a leak in the seal on the filler cap that would be causing a void in pressure? -
only serious replies please

If it's only been a month and a half, don't go into full scale panic just yet. I (and many others) have had to wait longer on other "vendors", as long as 6 months in one case for me. Soobme is a trusted board member, but that doesn't suggest he shouldn't be communicating with you. Keep trying. -
I picked up a set of Coopers for a bit over 3 bills. Good tires.

(Insert Zap's signature here ) If you just can't drive a Subaru, walk. But you might look at an older Toyota extended cab pick up. It may not provide the comfort you're looking for if you have 4 adults, but if it's 4wd and gas mileage that are your priorities, the other person not in the front seat can just suffer for the few times he/she will be in the rig.

I didn't say it this time, Ed.

If I'm reading your post correctly, it sounds as though when you place a load on the electrical system, you start to experience shorts in the system - i.e.: erratic electrical delivery to the tachometer and bucking from the motor (which may be due to fault in the spark to the power path (coil, wires, plugs)). Runa a diagnostic check on the alternator/regulator, and coil. Good luck. -
Replacement Driver Seat Foam ???
northguy replied to 4RnrRick's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Go to a sewing shop, like JoAnn Fabrics (good place to cruise for dates, also) and buy some high density foam cushion and replace the whole thing. You may want to put something stiffer next to the springs first, like tag board. -
Brake rotors?

Keep watching E bay. -
Not a problem, Torxxx. I hope it worked fine and got you home.
-
If there was no defect in the transmission before it failed, how did it get so low to cause fault? If it leaked at a rate that was either so fast it couldn't be caught in time, or so slow it couldn't be detected, then the factory is at fault. Of course the dealer is going to say it's not their fault. Be persistent.

Welcome to the board. Try using the search function for subaru parts online and you'll find a ton of them.
