  1. It'll never work. Just send the Limiter Slip Differential directly to me.
  2. That's a very luring title, but still too far for me to arrive on time. Good luck with it.
  3. Of course, wash the underside of your car. Think how you'd feel if you never washed YOUR underside? We'd start calling you Crusty.
  4. What is this strange word you have posted? Apology? Is that French, or Slavic, or Russian? Seriously, there have been flame wars on the board, but they are usually short-lived and are controlled. Still, I, for one, appreciate the gesture. I doubt there was any offense taken or someone might have PM'd you about it. But thanks anyway - your heart is in the right place.
  5. Welcome. Good to have you on board. It sounds as though you'll fit in just fine here.
  6. If you do put the larger wheels on, you'll have to do some wheel well mods.
  7. Have you dropped the pan to see if there is any debris in the tranny? It sounds as though one of the ports or channels is clogged, not allowing tranny fluid to be delivered. Either that or one of the bands is loose.
  8. Kelly, not that it'll make you feel any better, but I burned the same snowmachine motor up 3 times in less than 500 miles total. I bought it with a fresh rebuild on it which lasted about 200 miles - burned out the #1 cylinder - rebuilt it - burned out the #1 cylinder in about 70 miles - then rebuilt it again and burned up the #2 cylinder about 200 miles later. Three strikes - you're out. Put in a different motor and it runs great. Maybe you should look at the EJ mod for all of the long distance/high speed driving you do?
  9. If it's just comming on sporadically, it sounds like an electrical connection problem - ground problem, or shorting out.
  10. I just didn't want to put a new axle in before I had to. A 2 piece boot would probably do for the time being, until I experience mechanical failure notification.
  11. Thanks Ed. I was told of the boot problem last Fall and drove it all winter -and so far no problems - but with Spring (mud, gravel, wet, more mud, off-road use...) I'd better put something over it so the axle lasts as long as possible. It's not clacking yet, but left unattended, it'll surely go downhill in a hurry.
  12. OK, I'll bite. Why wouldn't you use it in an older Subaru?
  13. Nice job, Mick. Did you have that for the midwest meet? Or were you able to walk out of there without the winch?
  14. What outlet are they offered at? I have a torn boot and would try one of these out until I need to replace the axle if I had one available.
  15. I hate to sound like one of those no-mind SUV drivers, but one of the reasons I drive a Subaru is for the 4wd advantage and the fun of being ablt to go off road. For that opportunity, I forego the high mileage of say a Toyota Prius. If I, too, can keep above 20 mpg, I am happy. But others may make concessions to get better mileage.
  16. They pop up from time to time on e-bay, and at used book stores. I got mine from e-bay for about 25.00.
  17. If you can't find anything, do a search on timing belts. There's a ton of info here on them. And welcome to the board.
  18. Good luck with the haul; take your time and be safe. Keep us posted.
  19. With all of the vehicles out there, why would someone take 3 vehicles ranging in age from 10 to 26 years old? One new rig alone has a higher resale value :-\ .
  20. Kelly, have you made it home yet? Is Roxanne safe and sound?
  21. There are several members on the board who, I am sure, will be glad to point you in the right direction. Welcome to the USMB.
  22. Kelly, you just need to adopt the Q-man point of view: one for the street, and one for the woods. You need a Legacy to commute to and from Haines - 70+mph for 750 miles - and Roxanne all tricked out for the mud.
