How do you install the BRAT rear window?
northguy replied to Scott F's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Pull the old window frame, unscrew the dividers, pry the frame apart, and put the new sliders in the frame. -
Has anyone used one of the power chips available as an aftermarket add on? Are they worth the $24.98 asking price? Claims 10 - 22 hp and 2 - 7 mpg increase.

You can put a myriad of seeats in a Brat. The USRM has a template for figuring the bolt in process. I have Legacy seats in mine.

Will they be as nice as the ones Ed Dahl sells? -
I have Legacy seats in mine. Check the usrm for the template for the mounting bracket modification.

Shoot a PM to Torxxx. He's on top of the subbie thing up there. If you want me to keep an eye open down here, there are a lot of options around the Anchorage area. Welcome back. -
EA81 or EA82 is stamped on the engine.

If you're looking for an ea81 d/r tranny (4 spd) give me a holler. I've got a spare sitting around (and a 3.9 diff to match up with it).

Sawzall will work, but a grinder to just grimd the welds is probably better. You can get pretty much what you ask if you're willing to wait for the right circumstance. Or, you can give it to somebody who can use it. -

I heard this on "Car Talk" today. Tell your wife of a long time fantasy of you two in the backseat of __________________ (insert the make/model you desire here). Maybe that will work. -

My opinion, put on a new axle unless you know when it became torn. If you're in Anchorage, look at Schucks. The two I bought from them for my xt6 seem to be holding up well. If you need a garage to do the install in, give a shout. -
The tranny should bolt up, but you'll have to do the reverse driveline adaptation.

Why not weld in a brace on the bend?
