Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I would assume these issues are addressed in the directions with the kits. Jon, am I right? Patrick? If not, I'm sure we can come up with solutions since we have some time to invest in this before Spring.
-
Wow, Jon. Chill a bit, guy. I'm sure PK will do us right. And I find this hard to believe, especially coming from a guy who hashad a line in his signature honoring PK Davis. I'm sure you're just having a tough time right now dealing with something. If I can help, let me know.
-
Torxxx, PK's reply stated 38 - 42 per set depending on which one. I might add a bit more for packaging. But cool, I'll be interested to see if you can swing a deal.

sad day in the wasteland

You guys are like vultures on carrion. -
We anxiously await the new apparel line-up. Thanks for taking the lead on this, Mick.

Torxxx, if you have an "in", a discount on air front, you can be the go to guy. But it might be cheaper to have it air freighted to Anchorage and Kelly,or I can pick it up there. Do you want to do the inversigation on the cost? Each set, I'm told is between 43 and 52 lbs. (x3), depending on which set up.

I put a Herculiner in my Brat myself for about $80. Don't know if it's as good as a comercial spray in liner, but I had enough in the gallon can to do three coats. I haven't seen a commercial job that's as thick as mine.

I'm certainly not a mechanic, nor am I too scoobied up on Loyales, but your problems smack of a vacuum leak or a plogged fuel filter (or both). Just my guess, and I am sure others will chime in with more informed prognoses.

Just something to mull over....

The Jackman Wheel Company of San Diego went out of business in 1985, either October or November. Info found in an article called 100 years of tire history. -
If you're bored, visit the Ozified website and see which lift kit you want, then read the other posting on discounted lifts. Waitingto hear from you.

Ke;;y, I already got in touch with PK - what a guy. Said he'd give us a discount for multiple orders. I already have a floor jack. Torque wrench?

I've got a garage, tools, an impact, a spare bedroom for Torxx if he needs it, .... I might need some specialty Subaru tools (if they are needed) and a larger compressor. Mine is pretty small but good enough for changing tires and such. Probably a good excuse to upgrade. Figure we'd probably start on Torxx's rig since he's from out of town and if he runs into problems it'll give him ample time to get things straightened out. Anybody else have ideas? Access to a larger compressor? Other tools?

Radio controlled Brat on Ebay

Holy MOOSES! I thought 200+ was out of line when I complained about that price a month ago, but 6 bills and climbing? The buyer's signature may have something to do with it, though: hyebrother. He's high, all right. (But it is a sweet looking set up.) -
NAClink charged me 52 bucks for the first 55 lbs when Ed sent me the wheels. I'm sure it goes on a sliding scale and 3 lifts on NAClink would be less expensive than one at a time. Torxx, if you're serious about the lift, visit PK Davis's website. He's got a wide variety of options at pretty reasonable prices.

And Snowman, thanks for the compliment on my Brat, but I don't think it'd do allthat well. It looks good for Alaska standards, but it's too dinged up for WA and OR. I'm sure RichieRich had it there before, and I haven't heard that it did anything special. But thanks. I'm trying to keep it in good order.
-
I didn't want to hijack the other thread, so Snowman, if you're serious about lifting in the spring, we should look at seeing if PK Davis can send both of our kits at the same time and save some on the postage. I wouldn't think he'd discount for only 2 lifts, but if Torxx were interested, maybe he'd give us a discount on 3? Anyway, it'd be a good weekend project to put 2 or 3 lifts on in one weekend with Jon's assistance. Let me know what you think, and PK, if you happen to see this , what do you think about a volume discount? Torxx, you in?

Does the light remain on AND the gas gauge is working properly at the same time? Or is the gas gauge kaput?

It wouldn't be a bad idea if you don't have to pass IM inspection. -
any windshield removal tips?

Kurt, if it is original, factory installation, it should have been urethaned to the rubber, and if it was replaced at a reputable shop, it should also be glued to the rubber. If not, just cut the gasket next to the lip of the glass and you're good to go. It it is glued in, you'll also have to cut along the inside of the glass (parallel to the glass) to release the shield from the gasket. The other option is to cut the inside lip of the gasket away from the pinchweld and then go outside and cut the remaining gasket and urethane away from the frame. Then you can remove the remaining rubber gasket on the bench at your leisure. But you'll be putting in about 3 - 4 hours of labor to save ? (whatever a new shield costs in your area). If it were me, I'd go buy a half rack and talk with the guys in the glass shop and see what they'd do for you. -

I would be willing to wager that the combined mileage of all vehicles owned by board members would be in the tens of millions, and it could very well be that if we were to crunch the numbers, we'd find that car for car, our subbies last longer than almost any other make out there.
