metal bits made for ally won't clog nearly as easily as those for steel, they will have bigger spaces between the flutes. having my engine machining certificate, I should warn you that you need to be extra careflul when poring by hand without a flow bench. if you take off too much in any one area you can severly reduce velocity and loose a dramatic amount of power, my .02 would tell you that you should just smooth up the ports with a sand paper type cylinder or cone. just try to smooth out the transitions and don't get too carried away, bigger isn't always better, especially on these motors. If you're gonna port and polish, you should get a 3 angle valve job with some bigger valves, that would be your biggest restriction. As far as the turbo, i'd leave it alone and get a bigger one, ask WJM which one he's using, that would be a good start.

That neighborhood is good old DEtroiT, the emphasis goes on the capital letters.

Ok, just making sure. but good logic using the stickers as a guide, of course the licence plates would be a problem, the front is a WA the back is a Mi

Has anyone ever ran a subie engine on a test stand? I'm thinking that it would be easier to get the EA-81 franken motor running better and not pissing oil if i had better acess to its parts. My only worry would be to start it, i'm sure with spacers i could mount the starter, that and the exhaust, it would be loud with just the header

I think the paint would make it really "ozified"

Ed, the paint scheme, not the car. Subarally, you are correct, i'm thinking last of the flat 4 interceptors.

For 400 dollars you might be able to get the paint and tape covered at a good shop. If you are only going to spend 400 do it yourself for 50, cause unless you spend about 1500-2000 you won't get a good long lasting paint job.

New air intake for '92 Loyale
NoahDL88 replied to cmiller's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
On a flow bench, without an air filter, or a bottom, the top airbox, maf, hose, tb and intake will only flow 3 cfm better than if its stock. which if you're getting 100% VE, thats 1 hp. -
Are they subie struts with extensions, cause the travel on a stock stut is the same whether its got 6 inches below the perch or 10.

I'm flying out from Michigan. I believe we got some Alaskan's flying in too, although they might be driving. Its do-able. -
86-89? accord hatchback front springs will work in the rear, give you about an inch or two.

basically he probably just put the 134a in the R-12 system, which means that if the R-12 leaked out the 134a will too, but faster, because its a smaller molecule, because it was only 64 bucks, that leads me to believe he just put the adapter valves on and didn't infact change the O-rings and rubber hoses. my bet is by august you will be warm again. just my .02

those are some fine XT-6's

Might i reccomend not leaving valuables in your car?

For what its worth, i should be taking around 400-800 high res pics at the show, that should give us enough to pick and choose for what magazines we can send pics to.

can you combine a dr5speed and a fulltime?
NoahDL88 replied to tailgatewagon's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
In OZ the've taken the real low range, 1.52 and put it into an RX tranny, you do have the 3.7 which is less effective than the 3.9, but you have a better low range, I plan on doing this eventually, i'll have a write up about it,
