did you even check what I suggested? Make sure you're getting voltage to the relays, make sure they click and make sure you're getting voltage to the other side of the main ignition relay.
-
ignition, start and fuel relays all are separate, if you don't have all 3 that could be your issue.

Its been 6 months, either she's found one or she's moved on, I wouldn't sweat it. -
I'm only sure about EA-82 5 speed turbos

As per 89 XT and the 87 everything else manuals XT 87AC-23 Manual Trans 23 spline 87AC-25 Auto Trans 25 spline Everything else 82AC Carby 2WD 265mm shaft, no cooling fins on inner DOJ 87AC injected 2WD and carby 4wd 257mm shaft, cooling fins on inner DOJ 95AC-23 4WD injected 242mm shaft, cooling fins on inner DOJ 82AC one ring on axle shaft 87AC two rings 95AC-23 Three rings Don't know why carb or injected makes a difference, 4wd makes sense, but the opposite of what you'd think, they are shorter. I'll try to get a scan or a picture up of the page in the FSM soon

Do the early subies have the same part number. The RX, or any turbo transmission will have 25 splines on the input whereas the non turbo's will have 23 (correct me if i'm wrong) Autos are another ball of wax, but since no one in their right mind would drive an EA-Auto unless it was an emergency, they are kind of a moot point.

EJ Off Road Bumpers anyone??? * * * Done Post 28 * * *
NoahDL88 replied to newsoobdude's topic in Off Road
Yeah, except that airbag systems are designed to not go off below a certain speed. And the other 99.99% of the time the bumpers will still interfere with their proper operation. I'm just saying, that I'd only put a steel bumper on a car without airbags unless it was designed by a real engineer for use on an airbag equipped car. -
Have you found a good source for boots?
-
IIRC, the 2wd axles have a little bit more beef then the 4wd ones. Could be why you are seeing bigger ones.

EJ Off Road Bumpers anyone??? * * * Done Post 28 * * *
NoahDL88 replied to newsoobdude's topic in Off Road
I would be careful on cars with airbags, the sensors behind the bumpers are designed for a certain G force, and solid bumpers will increase the G forces for any given speed meaning you might pop a bag at a speed where it would be unnecessary, or even dangerous. Just my .02 but I would put an Offroad only disclaimer on any bumper you sell. -
Seattle/Kitsap: Helicoil 11x1.25 needed

I have a standard tap and die set, not a helicoil set. -
Does (tire) size really matter???
NoahDL88 replied to Seantheimpaler's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Mismatched tires will increase the risk of accident, I was running DL sized 175 on the front of my DL and the previous owner installed GL sized 185's on the rear, came around a corner too fast and the rear tried to overtake the front. And thats when I learned the mighty subie was indestructable, well, except for the windsheild, but we rolled it back over and it did just fine. Cliff notes: Same size ok if not same brand, different sizes are bad m'kay Also, don't use 4x4 on dry pavement. -

I have a tap set that could have the correct size, unfortunately no helicoils, let me know if that is any help to you. -

Or you could avoid hydrolocking the engine. go for the smallest vacuum line, and have it suck it in through that one, you may need to use a spare hose you have laying around the house, but if you suck too much in too fast you'll grenade the engine. once the can is empty let the car sit for 20 minutes, then start it up and drive hard. Do this whole thing on a hot engine, a cold one won't clean up as nice.

I moved from Michigan, I too love snow, but am now a big fan of motorcycling, so the fact that I can drive 30 miles to snow 6 months out of the year and still ride the bike 11.5 months out of the year is great. Of course, I didn't know that when I moved here (Seattle) I moved here for the old school hatchpatrol, Ken, Zap, Tex, Austin and others. Well that and I had a job waiting for me when I left Michigan.

To Spoil or not to air Spoil
NoahDL88 replied to WASHroad's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
A spoiler will do one of 3 things 1: divert air over the rear window and keep it from getting dusty/snowy 2: create downforce which is useful for high speed cornering 3: and this is the most likely one. add weight, increase drag, reduce your top speed and make your old car look foolish. If you understand angle of attack, chord angle and have one of the few RWD Subaru's this might make sense, but with 85 hp, downforce is the least of your worries. If you're doing it for looks then that's a whole 'nother ball of wax. -
I have found air ratchets to be all but useless knuckle busters. Try a 3/8 impact with a shallow socket, should fit in there.
