  1. Why should I bother checking if others can't bother searching?
  2. I was thinking keeping it stock, and keeping it for the street.
  3. I've obviously been around for a while, Had 2 EA-82's, 2 gen 1 legacys a 96 impreza and an 83 hatch for all of 30 miles (bought it, parked it, sold it) Now, I'm totally jonesing for an EA-81 hatchback, and miss the one I had. Anybody go from a wagon to a Hatch? do you miss the extra two doors? Kinda looking for Pros/cons better years? Also if you know of one that's in good condition that needs a new owner. I'm in no rush, and if a hand off at WCSS makes it easier, so much the better.
  4. Were you the XT I stopped for on the highway? White, Papa John's sign? I would at the least pull the transmission, its pretty easy on a FWD, and see if there are any loose parts on the clutch assembly. Swapping to 4wd isn't too hard, just a lot of bolting and unbolting. Start with figuring out what is wrong, and then work on swapping to 4wd if you want it.
  5. What year GL? Welcome aboard
  6. welcome, this is the place for your 92. There is a bunch of info in various FAQ's in different sub forums. Your questions may have been asked, and already answered so don't be afraid to search first.
  7. Tone it down a bit and you'll do just fine here. Welcome
  8. Also, Mudrat79 owes a few people on the board quite a bit of money. If he offers to build you something, you'd best go with cash on delivery, or just avoid him all together.
  9. Why are you heading to Baja? Ratty2Austin will probably be going down in November for the 1000, you should look him up.
  10. You can Sipe your tires, the "real" all terrains, not the BFG's helps on road in the rain, and on slick rock offroad.
  11. We usually don't use all caps, looks like you're shouting What kind/kinds of Subaru's do you have?
  12. Bolt that stuff down, if you don't balance right you'll not want 200 pounds of stuff rolling around in the car as you are rolling the car.
  13. Maybe not something you want to try if you are pretty much broke It would have the benefit of keeping the mud out of the radiator, but you would have to keep the fans running all the time as the radiator won't be getting any wind when you're driving down the road. If you look at the history of most cars that have radiators at the opposite end of the car as the radiator you'll see a lot of issues with corrosion, cooling and leaks. My .02 cents, if you "have" to move it, cut a hole in the hood and mount it there. Same issues apply, you'll have to run the fans constantly because of poor airflow over the radiator.
  14. Bigger tires will make the engine feel even less powerful. The lift kits, as mentioned are relatively simple to install, I'd go with one of the kits available, it will save you a lot of headache down the road. As far as the engine, you are limited by the width of the frame rails. An EA-81 (1.8) should fit, I'm not 100% on that but someone else may be able to comment to that. It won't at much power, but you'll gain some torque, which will help with the bigger tires if you go that route. With that engine, I'd recommend a 5 speed dual range transmission out of a EA-82 GL the DL's are not dual range, and the automatics are problematic. There is a really good FAQ in the offroad section that covers most everything that you'll be asking, I suggest reading through that and then asking any questions you might have.
  15. first bit of help PLEASE DON'T WRITE IN ALL CAPS Its annoying to read and it looks like you're SHOUTING.
  16. NoahDL88 replied to Billy Gibson's topic in Shop Talk
call up the people that make them and ask them to ship to your address?
  17. No, it won't Any EJ22T, and you would need the entire car, would be anywhere from 1000 to 5k for a nice one. (preemptive, please don't ruin another Subaru)
  18. Is there a code? If so before you throw any more money at the car, bring us the code so we can guide you. You're shooting in the dark if you have a check engine light and haven't bothered to get the codes read.
  19. Hi, I own a Subaru Leone with a Wrx EJ20G Motor in it, Competition gear box, Z4 Ecu with a stage 3 chip in it, Rear Wheel Drive. I need help in wiring a Data Link Connector, OBD I or OBD II, I have no idea which wire goes where to the ECU. Can I get some help with this please? Thanks, Regards, Amk. Now we can read it What year is your engine? that will determine if its obd 1 or obd 2
  20. Does the borla header have a cat? that sounds like it's your problem.
  21. Tach could also be a loose tensioner on your timing belt DAMHIK
  22. Stock, if you don't get too crazy you'll get 3-5 dunks out of it before everything fails. If you spend about 50 hours on making it "waterproof" you'll be good for about 6-8. It is far easier, and this is the voice of experience, that you either: 1 replace car after you dunk and kill it. 2 don't dunk it. For my money, I've decided to go for option two.
