it might hold the weight of the winch, but thats it, those stock bumpers are absolutely no where near strong enough to attach a winch to. Ozmodiar, check out http://www.ausubaru.com, they will be able to point you in the right direction as far as what you can find down under.

Little Red Button RULES!!!
NoahDL88 replied to Mantonite's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I thought the little red button was magic.... ..... Till i swapped in the magic lever, "its all about the proper application of lee-verage" -
I'd say the easiest way will be to get a bull bar, and have a class 3 reciever hitch welded to the front, or get one with it integral, and then use a mounting plate that uses the class 3 hitch.

that will help response more than anything, but unless you actually do real work to the engine, (spend money) you're not gonna go any faster. The stock intake will flow over 300 horsepower easy. nothing you can do to a NA car between the filter and the TB that will get you more then 2 horsepower You wanna go faster, get a good set of springs, all 4 corners of the car. only then will a complete exhaust and a perfect power chip do you good.

Anybody remember ORSA?

I remember -
This would be the easiest. Just a helpful hint, leaks almost always start the farthest forward and the highest up. so a leak on the top of the engine can look like a flood from the transmission.
-
If you have an Orange 4WD button on your shifter, you have 4wd, not awd, i don't believe the XT DL's came with AWD, as far as your leak, do you have an auto or a 5 speed?

Please don't double post, one forum is enough.

You could turn it into a torrent file and then random USMB'rs could Seed it.

What engines are in these cars.....??
NoahDL88 replied to NVBigBlue's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
They both have the EA-82, but the turbo, is of course a turbo, which some would argue as not very reliable, but if you change the oil on time and keep the cooling system in top condition you won't have any problems. Auto tranny, not so much. I've heard a lot of bad things about them, although i've never had an EA-82 auto. My Ex has an 88 GL 2wd with an auto, has about 50k on it and it seems to do fine, the biggest issue there is that there is no 4th gear. -

Depending on where "international" is.... Scorpion in Australia / NZ Ozified or AA in the US I personally have 2 lifts from Ozified and have had no problems with either. www.ozified.com

This is good information, but you shouldn't double post, one forum is enough

You might go to your local dealership and ask them. I've been offroading my 88 for years and never seen anyone break their rear diff, axles sure, but not the diff

Detroit Lockers, and Subaru's
NoahDL88 replied to MoscowSubaruDude's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
It could be done in car, but any oil, even the little bit left over after you clean it out real well, could start your car on fire. remember, on the other side of the sheet metal above your diff is the gas tank. I'd do it out of the car, not that much more work and the peace of mind is worth it. -
If i recall, they didn't do half bad either. SubaRubicon indeed.

The 4 cylinder or the 4 cylinder turbo is an XT or an XT-Turbo respectively The XT-6 has the 6 cylinder, a 2.7, basically the 4 cylinder with 2 extra cylinders.
-
Thats funny, you won't wear your seatbelt, but you have a car with 6 airbags.
-
Sure is cool that they don't hate us. I'd like to remind everyone here, that if you feel the urge to go over there and talk with them, keep it nice. we don't want to start a flame war.

I've never been to a track, so i can't help you there, sorry. i do know that my 88 DL 4wd didn't like anything much above 70 anyway. those wagon bodys are bricks.
