Calling John Bloom (again)
NoahDL88 replied to NoahDL88's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Thats the only thing that i need to do to get it running. if it comes down to it, i may be able to swap in the EJ tranny and rear diff. with some fabbing it won't be too bad, i hope. To be fair to John, in my case, i called him about the adapter plate in August 2004. In September, i told him to hold off on mine, as i didn't have the engine for the swap. It wasn't until June 2005 that i told him i had the engine and needed the plate. We agreed that he would bring it to the WCSS7, which didn't happen. About 2 weeks ago i called him, and he said that he just needed my address to ship it, and that it was ready to go. I'm still waiting on a package or tracking number. -

if you're around on weekends i can wait, but i'm still waiting for the adapter plate. i didn't mean for that to rhyme, so i won't waste any more time the plate was made by one John Bloom, i hope to God it gets here soon. sorry just felt a little creative there. -

EA-82T valve springs? Upgrades?
NoahDL88 replied to BoostedBalls's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
don't know if they are the same as EA-81 springs, but www.ramengines.com has better springs for the EA81 that might work. give em a call, couldnt' hurt, and the 50 bucks you spend on new springs is worth it if you but another 2k into the engine anyway -
Was there more than one 4-lug Suby bolt pattern?

Yes.... all "real" subaru's with the 4 bolt were 140mm the justy was 4x100 so, essensially(sp)? no. Nothing against the justy. right about now their 40mpg is looking mighty good. -
Its on my 1980 wagon, could be an Austin addition, but the stock switch is there, so i don't think so.

91 legacy AC

have you had it pressure tested, seems like you are loosing R-12 at a very rapid rate, which is causing your low pressure sensor to shut off the relay, which gives you your clicking. -
Legacy Lift Kit with large tires
NoahDL88 replied to Shadyirishmen's topic in Products for your Subaru
If the guy who owns it is unsatisfied with the power loss because of 29s, tell him to contact www.Rallitek.com for a perfect power chip. Sean installed one in my OBS, it's way more peppier now. Gets better gas mileage too. Over 30mpg with 28s. Its not Unichip, but its the exact thing you are after -
Were not talking about the Krissy i know are we?

wow, your about a 10 minute walk, ok, well 15 minutes by car, but you are probably about 5 minutes from "my" dealership. Hodges subaru, best dealer in Michigan. I'll let you know, pulling an engine is easy alone, but putting it in, its nice to have an extra set of eyes. -

Advice on finding reliable parts resellers?
NoahDL88 replied to jfacker's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
I'd reccomend a rebuilt from CCR, www.ccrengines.com for me it was only about 200 dollars more for the rebuilt then the used engine with 40k on it. If you really want used, you might try aarons auto wrecking, not 100% on their address, but you can google them. I've gotten a lot of random stuff from them and have had no problems. -

some weird city ordinance, if i'm lucky my roomate will clear out half the garage and i'll be able to keep the 88 in there, then it should be safe. -

Still no adapter plate, talked with John last week, said he'd ship it right away. it may be in the mail, i hope, or it could be sitting in his workshop. Just got a call from the city, its gotta move under its own power by next friday or my baby will be gone. -
