Yea I had the same thought about period continuity but the problem with and 81 gate is it narrows to much at the top so the fit is no good

Ok no problem Ill try and find my camera again today to get some better shots before the install of interior This all I have for now sorry This rear pic should show ya pretty well
-
Hmm:-\

this sounds interesting but I like the subtleties in fabrication I like it when you have to piont out whats been done. also in my world that type of vehicle would not be usefull well I was not able to take any pics today my camera is MIA I spent most of the day mocking up interior penel to wrap with cloth I plan to put two 8 in drivers in each little hatch location in the walls with a sealed enclosure tucked in to the wall, this will give me two subs with no lost space. the interior is gonna take some time cause Im kinda particular thanks to all for the comments keep um comming LT
-
Yea the one you saw is still in the works this is my second one this one is my daily driver
-
I can not figure out why the first pics are small they all came from the same camera where taken the same day and uploaded all at the same time As far as the interior its not complete yet im gonna work on it today so maybee later tonight ill have pics

Ok a little history I purchased this brat form caleb(svengoli) and he was very honest and told me about all of the problems So that being said if any of ya know this brat she was rode hard and never put away. (NEXT SIX PICS BEFORE PICS )Notice the 2 head lights now it has 4 pics to come after replacing the whole front end cause it was almost falling off, I noticed that the back wall was leaking. Creating that lovely wet moldy smell on the inside. I have done this detail to another one of my brats. It worked out well it fixed that back wall leak. I think its just the ticket if you are tall or ya want to carry some stuff with ya that cant get wet. The first thing I did is prep all the peices youll need a ea82 wagon gate ( preferably the ones with the rubber removable window seal) A brat with or without leaky back wall Some fab skill and time basic tool can be used ie. cut off wheel grinder welder fiber glass vulkum pics of prep prep both sides in bed on roof You have to trim and fit the gate in. It takes lots of marking, cutting and fitting to get it ready to weld in. It just needs to be trimmed for the back wheel wells. I got a little plaz happy Next the removal of you brats back wall. The first one i did i used an air cut off wheel and a sawzall it worked ok. Not as good as the plasma cutter I use this time , I cut it up to the top of the stock window opening so as to keep the roof integrety wall in wall out then its time to install the gate So when you get the gate where you want it you have to bend the rear gutter on the roor up so that the top of the gate fits flush it will not meet the cab in the corners but it will mate in the middle enough to weld about 15 inches together. the you weld the corners where it wraps around the bed and finally you weld the gate to the bottom of the bed. There will be a gap along each side where the angle of the gate and the angle of the bed are diffrent I fill it in with vulkum ( Super Caulking) then I take sheet metal fare it out and weld the two together. this can also be done in the bed because of the uneven floor Next ya need some filler( I prefer Long & Strong fiberglass filler.)or you can fab in sheet metal like I did so as to use as little of the filler as possible the more filler the more can go wrong later fare it out and hook up your new defroster wiper squirter and brake light so now put your seats back in and enjoy the extra room you can finally put the seat all the way back and still kick it back some You can even look out your new window while relaxing in your now reclineable seats This gives you about 18 inches of exstended cab for tools pets or sound hope this will inspire someone

For all you 6'+ people who want a brat and thought you could not fit I have solution for you ( as long as you can fab) Its done and documented I just need someone to host the pics the usmb will not upload Thanks

finding exedy or oem 8 7/8 ea81 clutch
mtnman38 posted a topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Ok so the problem that I am having is . I have ordered three clutches from diffrent places and I have recieved an 7 7/8 clutch each time I have called and talked to the service reps and they keep telling me that exedy does not make a 8 7/8 but I know they do because I purchased one about a year ago but the place I bought it from is now gone Places I have tried: oem parts .com The parts bin and penisula subaru The dealer wants the vin# (4 or 5 )that coeinsides with this clutch. the problem with this is the car had the smaller clutch and now its lifted and swampered so I need that extra bite any insight would be great also any oem clutches that you have used with great results Sachs? thanks in advance lt -
do your lifts for EA81 still have the same design with round rear lift blocks and non guseted shock exstentions mustach bar bolts need to be longer they have about a 1/4 inch of thread in the metal There is a definate camber problem as well you need to adjust your angle cut on front strut mounts if so I would spend some time on a redesign because round blocks shift and roll front to back and side to side causing your mustach bar to bend and your drive axel in the rear to pop out making 4wd useless also the blocks shift causeing the bolts to break and it destroys the mounting points on the car itself also the round blocks are just small enough that they press them selves thru the sheet metal on the body making your car schrink each time you use it I had to redesign the rear end and weld new 1/4 in steel plates for the new assemble to sit on and put new bolt mounts on the plates before welding them on to the body So basiclly the old desigh has desroyed my brat if I did not have a shop or fab exsperiance this would have totaled my brat because the stock rear suspention assembly would no longer stay attached to the car So fair warning feel free to pm me with questions also I sold three of these lifts to my friends from the first group buy they have all failed from the same problems This is not the first time I have discussed these problems with AA I spoke to ALBIE many times thier final answer on the problem was "there is not enough money in the old suby stuff so we are not going to redesign" Im not tring to start a fight here I just want everyone on the board to be aware I said nothing for so long cause AA stopped selling this stuff before it failed I have only delt with ea81 and ea82 kits from AA Ea82 kits have yet to devlope problems as far as I know ELTORO and ninja ben have used these lifts for a while Thanks LT
