  1. My tires in the front really like to pick up when I accelerate on 235x75x15 and a 4" lift. stock struts and springs. Any way to correct this lifting because it wears my tires on the outside a lot faster than it does on the inside.
  2. It should. Having the belt jump 1 tooth throws it off quite a bit. Let us know if it doesnt.
  3. Rob helped me get it in my garage So now i checked the fuel pump, since that wasn't going on when we turned accessories on. no sound. looks like previous owner tried to wire it himself. But when I connected it to the key on, still no sound. so probably bad fuel pump. Also there is no spark. What do you guys address when you find no spark? disty? coil?
  4. if its a couple degrees from 180 then you might have one that's a tooth off or something..
  5. You should check them again. Since you left your covers off it should be easy. I use a mirror on a stick to reach it down there and make sure the cam hole is faced 180 degree of each other. Use the creases in the case as reference points. It is not necessary to remove the radiator or engine, although it helps. Let us know if the marks are lined up.

  7. no. he drove it an hour to work after.
  8. The video to that picture: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lawylYkHxX8
  9. Fitted some bigger tires on today. upgraded to 15's. rocking 235x75x15 i believe. Hopefully buyinng knobbier tires soon. also bonus Marcus going big
  10. Hey guys, West Coast Subaru Show is coming up in a little more than a month. I've never been before but I was thinking it would be cool to get all the lifted guys to roll in together and maybe camp together? I know Marcus, Doug, and Kevin will probably be heading out with me from Tacoma. We would stop to pick up more of you lifted guys up if you lived on the way or wanted to meet us somewhere?
  11. Lifting it is fun, but damn you dont see many touring wagons! Keep it clean.
  12. Hey guys! Scored a new old school over the weekend. This is my 1983 Brat. Has A/C, Fun Tops, and came with some extra wheels and tires. Very clean for sitting for so long. Doesn't run, but turns over. Goal is to get it to daily driver status. Picked it up for $275 and my Loyale was able to tow it up some gnarly hills. only paid $275
  13. rad. not very familiar with the ea81. is it the same mount up from the ea82 tranny? or is there an adaptor plate involved?
  14. I still have my push button from my d/r swap...5spd.
  15. Getting the rump roast end all over the road sounds like my cup of tea! That's what I'd want to do. Sounds like it won't last very long before something goes bad. So I'll just wait until the weather permits. do my skids. And be done.
  16. ok, my brat is an 83, so that means it would be the 3.7 in the rear? It's going to get a welded rear and my goal is to build a semi-reliable rwd brat with very little modification.
  17. Also using this thread to help with my questions. So if it did have a center diff it wouldnt put all the power to the rear correct? Does the 83 brat 3 SPD auto tranny have a center diff?
  18. Like they said above. Nothing can hit the belts because they are protected by the radiator. Nothing is going to jump straight up and hit the belts. I have snapped a belt due to getting my car deep in some mud, past the belts and it broke. Maybe just time for that belt to go, or the resistance from the mud made the belt snap. Bottom line: everyone runs with no covers for a reason. the reason being, you don't need them.
  19. So what I'm getting is on the knuckle side I need to cut an axle behind or in front of the boot?
  20. Replacing a front axle is pretty darn easy. Just take the hub apart (don't even need to take the knuckle off.just take the ball joint but out, then pry the hub off the ball joint and pull the hub towards you. Should be enough room to pull the axle out and slide a new one in. Rwd sounds like a lot of fun though
  21. I was thinking just yank my front axle shafts. Welded rear diff. And 4wd would get me going sideways. I'd love to hear from someone who's done it.
