Wow, I want that dual range tranny! I miss having a dual range in my baja (I would consider an XV if they had dual range or diesel here)

Cleaning EA82 Interior
Flowmastered87GL replied to subi dude's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I never had any issues with seat bolts sticking, (but then again I had a rust free Oregon car) You may want to hit them with lube if they salt the roads there. If you really want to get the car cleaned out, pull the seats, lower interior side panels and door sills and the carpet too. I have used scrubbing bubbles (in the spray can) with pretty good results in the past. Take care when re-installing the seats so that you don't crossthread the bolt holes and strip them out. Then your seats will never mount securely (if you strip the holes). -
How to remove stuck EA82 rear CV?

Anyone into RC Crawlers??
Flowmastered87GL replied to 88Subi4x4's topic in Non Soob Cars and Bikes Discussion
Yep.... Tamiya CC01 Another Tamiya cc01 (that I have had since middle school, I am 31 now) RC4WD K-2 6x6 chassis with axial running gear... still need to finish the body and tube work. But it runs and drives. (its sort of a dodge trex.... but a crew cab instead of a regular cab) Last one is a rc4WD hercules 8x8 chassis with axial running gear... I still have lots to do and I am already $1000 into this thing. -

well on the passenger side you can put a DL filler panel, but not sure about the drivers side... maybe a JDM piece available??? Or... an 85 window setup... they had the windows on the door and not the little triangle... not sure how they look with all the trim removed though, so the the door MAY be structurally different. Worth looking at though. You may be able to just get away with new door trim and new (used) glass. -
More space in GL sedan?
Flowmastered87GL replied to 92_rugby_subie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I don't think so... I would imagine that the XT rear seat would be narrower (it may fit in a 3dr though) -
I spy a fuji rabbit under the front bumper

Latest toy... its similar to Zaps brown brat early in this thread, its a Tamiya CC01 (or XC-01 if you want to be technical) with a Tamiya Brat hard body, RC4WD 1.55 steel wheels and scale Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ tires.

Got myself a Subaru
Flowmastered87GL replied to ystrdyisgone's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Just reseal the gaskets, (unless you have reason to think it was severely abused) I have resealed engines with over 200K and never had an issue. If you can stick on a weber carb (not carter-weber) you can make the hooking up of the vacuum lines MUCH easier. -
Nice upgrade... I loved my fleet of EA82's but once you go to an EJ bodied car its hard to go back

what rims are on my car

Agreed, looks to be a Les Schwab wheel painted black. They were like their in house replacement for the white wagon wheel, though their offset was different (about the same offset as Calmasters) -

I am thinking I may have to pay someone off at work to trade days off with me (I am off Tuesday, so maybe I can work Tuesday and the guy off Friday can take Tuesday off) Woo hoo 6000 posts! I am there no matter what... even if its last at night Friday.... likely bringing someone this year too (finally)

I never lost my job over it... but I showed up for work hung over for a trip out to eastern Oregon Thankfully Swift / Dollar Tree never found out.

Sadly if you tell them that you will never get hired.... you are better off keeping your mouth shut, and if the show is more important... try to find a new job to start just after the show.

Its a nice car, but it has an 87+ front fender, side marker and an 87+ DL or Loyale front bumper. I'd still rock it though Appears to be an 85 RX...
