  1. Looks like it adds around 90 miles to the trip if you come over our way (looks like you pop in around Eugene according to mapquest)
  2. Type of Wrenching: Formerly low level professional (contract labor doing easier tasks like brakes, oil), shadetree for many years (done PLENTY of EA82 head gaskets), and lots of maintenance. Now I live in a fancy expensive apartment with a parking garage so most everything is getting taken to Richie now. How long doing it: about 15 years Other skills: Light woodworking, simple electrical stuff, handyman type stuff (patching drywall, installing toilet for example)
  3. Blewett pass is pretty close to the show IMO... though if you break something it probably would feel a million miles away :-\
  4. Good to know... Hmmm just meet next door at McDonalds?? Then we have a bathroom and breakfast if needed. Input from the rest of the convoy??
  5. You can ride along with me if you like, but you gotta have your own tent :-p
  6. Posted in the early bird thread, going to call Scoobyclimbs today to try to successfully merge our caravans.
  7. Yes, but I think it was WCSS 5 :-\ The lame parking lot one in oak harbor. Had to get there early because it was just a car show and no camping fun If you need a ride from Idaho brad, post a thread for it... I bet a local to you would let you ride along, especially if you chip in afew bucks for gas money! (I assume you mean thumb up as trying to hitchhike to the show)
  8. going to bed, just checked this thread before going to sleep. Will try calling tomorrow as I have been up 22 hours already.
  9. Its not a boozearoo unless the "smugglers box" in the back has been used to smuggle booze
  10. FYI Flying J is now Loves zzz I am cool with merging... you trying to arrive around 1PM ish? I am ok taking 97 in and will just come back via 12 if it means a bigger caravan If we wanted an empty place to meet there is an old western type store that now empty (next to mcdonalds before loves and TA and stuff) that we could take over the parking lot to meet up.
  11. joined, but need to figure out a convenient way to get into it.
  12. Since I see the other threads popping up I figured I would make one. At this time I am only posting it on the USMB (not Nabisco ). Times at this point are approximate and open for discussion in here. Meet Friday morning at around 6AM in Troutdale at I-84 exit 17, Meet at McDonalds see google streetview for detail. Its just after Arbys and the now closed up former western store http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=45.545733,-122.397641&spn=0,0.006856&z=17&layer=c&cbll=45.544322,-122.398686&panoid=c2BXtD6_l6f-POXd9O1n2g&cbp=12,164.85,,0,5 Address to McDonalds: 1002 Northwest Frontage Road Troutdale, OR 97060-9534 Get Directions (503) 665-9455 We are planning to go West on I-84 North on 97, West on 82, briefly west on 90, More north on 97, East on 2 to the show (assuming the wildfires don't change our location or date) Speeds will be kept reasonable, likely no more than 5 over the limit (thats why this isnt posted on NASIOC:rolleyes:) We will probably make a gas stop somewhere around Yakima or Ellensburg (whichever is cheaper) then if needed get some last minute supplies either near the show, or in Levenworth or Wenatchee if needed. This can be discussed later if needed. Who is in?? We should be there early to get good camping spots near when the gates are opening (I myself am going to the Canadian end, if you are early and want the quiet end, this is your chance to get a nice quiet spot) In so far: - Flowmastered87GL - 92_rugby_subie - Scoobyclimbs - Cmiller - MrGlegacy ? - Sinbin and guest - Pooparu?? - NV Zeno meeting in Toppenish at "Dads"
  13. Wow, nice airbrushing Rob (not to my personal tastes but I can still appreciate the work that goes into it)
  14. No promises on parts fitting the brat, but if you want to put GL wagon or sedan parts on it try to get 1980-1984 parts. Or hatchback up to 88ish. Basically it should look like your body style. I think the parts on the newer models are different. Though you would be amazed how many parts ARE interchangable.
  15. Not sure how EA81 seats fold down, but in the EA82 I think its just fine to sleep in the back with the seat folded down.... makes a good metal platform. If you did pull the seats maybe build a totally flat platform forward with storage under it for tools and stuff. Kinda like a stow and go system like chyrsler minivans.
  16. My USMB addiction comes and goes... myspace is SOOOO 3 years ago I still play around on facebook though.
  17. ^^this Happened on my 87 GL-10 turbowagon. Fine around town, but not happy on freeway. Make sure you get a 2 row replacement.
  18. your number is just the number that you registered in. Its used to keep track of your car at the show for judging for the car show and stuff. I still have my #18 on the corner of the windshield from last year
  19. Weren't there rumors years ago of the brat having a slightly different cam? I dont remember if we found it to be true or false or never looked into it :-\
  20. You live in the right part of the country... there are tons of us Subaru geeks in the PNW
  21. I am going, headed up Friday morning to get a good camp spot (I posted a thread in off topic (if you can see it yet) asking for input on different possible routes.)
  22. You scrubbed the hood too hard, looks like there is a big hole in the middle of it and the engine is showing
