I get about 20 MPG in the 87 while delivering pizza, around 25 just normal driving and around 28 on the highway. My 86 GL (with 3AT, 4WD) that I got from Jason a year and a half ago got like 40 MPG

I like the beer potluck idea, everyone just bring a bunch of different things. If you dont bring any you shouldnt be able to partake (freeloaders arent any fun) Using shot glasses or dixie cups would be the best way to portion it out I agree (probably would help if each person brought their own glass?)

Looks like the kinda work I need to do to my brat to get it back in shape. Gives me more hope for the fact that the metal repairs CAN actually be done -
Today I had afew extra minutes and stopped by one of those little used car dealers where the cars are packed onto the lots so tight you cant walk... but hey the cars are cheap. I found an 87 Turbowagon (GL) for $250!!! (4WD) For now I'm not saying where I saw it, the guy said it should be there for a while so I may snatch it up after I sell 2 of my cars

A stereo competition may be cool, BUT if this is at the fairgrounds where the rallycrosses happen there ARE neighbors. Would it fly ok with them? I just wanna see Subaru Styles beat out all the guys with Imprezas The beer tasting would be cool if it was organized, but then the OLCC would be there possibly (and you dont want em there!), so maybe that part is just best left unorganized and a bunch of us just show up with what we want Friday night. (I found a new beer thats $9.50 a bottle -

Flowmastered87GL replied to lastchance's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I'm a beat up old 80's wagon too. Makes sense, my car has afew dents in the floor from off roading, cant seem to stay clean for more than a day, has no carpet, has a coolant leak somewhere (blown HG?) and has 287,000 + miles -
80's Japanese Domestic Subaru's... PICS!
Flowmastered87GL replied to Subarutex's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Notice how they ALL seem to have the funky 85-86 style front bumpers?? They are painted to match still, but especially on the RX coupe (3rd page) they just look kinda mismatched. Awesome cars though -
Dude, Russ, buy that wrecked $200 legacy up in Seattle and grab the engine, wiring harness AND tranny and sell the other parts to recover the $200 EJ22 Beerwagon

Timing Belts 87 GL10
Flowmastered87GL replied to ka2wij's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I dont think anyone suggested it, but are they genuine subaru belts? or some knock off brand? I've had knock off brand alternator belts be too short, maybe the timing belts are too? -

Flowmastered87GL replied to Goatboy's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
hmmm ok maybe they do exist, but ive never seen an 85 with a GL-10 badge yet.... but ive seen many a loaded GL Looking at the brochures it appears the GL-10's are the rare ones with painted bumpers, Ive seen 1 or 2 of those, but never saw the badge, so those musta been it -

Flowmastered87GL replied to Goatboy's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
actually.... there is an 85 GL wagon 5 speed DR for sale in corvallis OR right now, has digidash and power everything (including moonroof), but its a GL, then again it IS an 85, so the GL-10 option wasnt available then -

They even have Dodge Caravan taillights. And the new ones have a car height front bumper :-p Kinda funny how the forester is ok, but an outback isnt... i guess there need to be lines of some sort though. Either way I'm just going there so I can flog on the car for 4 laps
