  1. I say leave it, dont wanna end up like NASIOC with 30 different rooms
  2. Time to wire everything with toggle switches and relays... then it would be a true rally car Now that I see its FWD though (didnt notice last time I looked at it), I say sell it as a commuter to someone
  3. Its so little and cute I cant tell, is it FWD or 4WD??? If its FWD I say sell it. 4WD, keep it
  4. Sweet... awesome find for $150 (cheapest I ever found was a neglected turbowagon for $350, this beats it by far) If the tranny IS indeed bad, it uses a 5 speed dual range which is a VERY common transmission (you could find one at almost any junkyard in town) I got one for a friend for 12 bottles of Alaskan Amber (cost to me $2.50 total!!!!)
  5. I dunno if this helps or not... But in my 82 BRAT the right signal stayed on solid and the left one blinked... I replaced the right front light wiring harness with one from a junkyard and the problem went away
  6. Or... if a belt broke, maybe when it came flying off it unplugged the oil sensor?
  7. Still too new school for me. I think I know the car it came on, but not the year (have a guess though) When the question comes up of when the subaru symbol (the 6 star emblem) changed, I have that one in the bag
  8. Hmmm looks like I will be replumbing the system then. I just did what Jason had suggested based on how his 76 was set up. Hopefully the car will run a bit better with it redone Maybe at the same time I'll try to get that stupid weber adapter leak fixed
  9. Hmmm you learn something new everyday... I had no idea that EA81 wheels differed in any way (I dont even recall a mention of it on the wheels page)
  10. I do that too, my spring is between a beefy black tie wrap tied to the front engine lifting hook going rearward to the spring Austin... interesting idea there... much cleaner than my setup with 2 T fittings (think one long hose going from valve cover to cover with a T fitting rearward for the PCV valve and frontward for the air cleaner)
  11. They should be the same as far as I know... spoked wheels will only differ at the late 84/85 mark (the EA82 style) which has a different cross section profile to clear the brake calipers. 82-83 are both pure EA81 years so you should be safe
  12. As you can probably see on my site... I used an inner fender mount for mine (it screws down into the mounting tab where the fender and the engine well meet as well as to the seam (opening) between the hood and fender... no screws are visible when the hood is closed.
  13. Maybe ask Sean at http://www.rallitek.com He lightened a flywheel for my friends 98 RS (not sure how much, thats why I say to ask Sean)
  14. well I ran 18 feet of wire, so I ran a nice little loop around the interior so it wouldnt all be in a pile somewhere I actually didnt have to drill the firewall, I just poked through an existing gromit (but I dont have AC, the AC uses that hole for a drip tube I think) I only fused ONE wire, the CB came that way. I belive its the positive one.
  15. They are on my website... I run a big 8.5 foot steel whip antenna (WCSS3 Rally X Antenna award winner ) and I have the radio mounted to the side of the console where the shifter is, in the passenger footwell area. The wires come under the carpet and through a hole in the firewall above the cat, then up the firewall and over to the antenna mount and over direct to the battery. http://www.geocities.com/motorcity/show/1490/subaru/cb/ Since its geocities it may have a problem linking... if it does try pasting the link to a new window.
  16. Is CA really THAT bad that a car that came from the factory with no cat would end up needing one??
  17. My loyale key works in Jasons cousins 87 wagon. And my 87 GL key fits Andrews 86 turbo sedan
  18. Hey I resemble that remark (just washed the car for the first time since WCSS5 a little over a week ago)
  19. I have found that the mounting method of your wipers can make some difference. I have wipers from NAPA and they can clip on the arm OR screw on to the arm. The angle changes each way. I currently have them screwed on and they skip a bit. Rain X is nice at first... but after afew years the film on your window isnt that nice Good thing I am getting a new windshield tomorrow (and new wiper blades)
  20. Ya taking that snail off the line was pretty hard, but I got him
  21. Well, 3 months after I purchased it... my 92 Loyale runs and drives again. It even made the 15 mile trip from Jasons house to mine It just took forever to get everything in there properly... a day at a time I would do a little, then in afew days do a little more... then the holidays came, and I got sick for a while... Anyway the tranny is in and it runs great.... mmmm feel that 3AT smoothness (so to answer your question Mark... the tranny works great ) Now I just need to make sure I have all the proper paperwork to sell it, and then take care of the 60K service and its off to its new home (either in Bend or Tillamook)
  22. I need to put in for the day off, but I'll be there. My "Cluelesscarchick" well maybe... depends on her work schedule. I'm just trying to figure out which of the 4 cars to bring
  23. Now you're talking! I think I am going to do that to my intake when I yank the engine in afew thousand miles for maintenance.
