Subaru justy gen 1&2 compatability

Also, does anyone know if I can pull the transfer case on the back with out pulling the transaxle -
Just purchased myself an 88 5 speed 4wd justy. A person up the street from me has a gen 2 justy for parts. Can I use any suspension parts? Also how close to being the same are the transaxle? I drove mine home stuck in 4X4 and the output shaft from the Trans to the back diff went pop.

I have an idea, share a link to a good thread of installing a 2" lift. Being the wealth of knowledge that you are.I know your tired of seeing the same question over and over. You've been here longer than most, but when you see these noob threads, why bother clicking?

I just did a 2" lift on my brat but I only did the front. The brake lines on the front need to be rerouted so they don't go through the bracket on the strut. I believe the brackets pictured go furthest back on the front, near the leading rod. as for shift linkage I made a one inch bracket for where the gear shift linkage attaches to the body. The high/low selector i made a bracket to move it above the center tunnel, and over to the passenger about 1/2 an inch. I'm not sure how others have done it, perhaps someone has a good link. the only thing I had to lengthen was the steering shaft. I cut it in half and sleeved it with steel pipe and welded it. then for good measure I drilled a hole at both connections and used a bolt just in case my welds fail. Hope this helps, and sit down for a couple hours searching threads. I know this site can be a mess to search through but the information is there. p.s. your strut spacers have a left and right side and sjr should be readable from the fender side. they should tuck in \ / not / \ They definitely can go in backwards.

Past thinking about it lol. Pulled an exhaust stud and I'm tired of patching leaks. Welding on your back just a few inches from from the exhaust is no fun. I need it done right and I wanna be back in the mountains!

Thank you. I know I've been a noob pest lately, but I'm finally able to afford everything I've been planning for a year and I have been second guessing myself with every purchase. I've read searched and read everything I can get my hands on, I know this stuff back to front. Not a single screw or bolt on this brat has not been turned by me. I got this. -cheers

Quick question, I am having my exhaust redone, and my lift kit will be here in a couple days. Logic tells me to do the exhaust aftet the lift. I'm only going up 2" in the front but I've never seen mention of having to mod the exhaust after a lift. Insight?

I have thought about making it myself but I don't trust myself getting the measurements spot on for the camber. Someone else with a jig, who does it for a living, will get it right the first time. After doing some measuring, 27's really are not a lot bigger in radius but the tire will be wider. I'd love to go with a bigger lift but I'm trying to stay sensible. My BRAT already gets to a lot of places I wouldn't expect, I'm just looking for a little more clearance. with the tire/combo the body should sit about 4.5 inches higher than stock.

Back to the original posting, Ive emailed scott and it is available "$250 , you should do it, it will level out the car".

trust me i have done A LOT of reading, but i have not seen mention of stock motors and performance. MCbrats monster runs an EA-81 with 33" tires, but he is also running a trans-case after a low range gearbox. Also, im way over a mile above sea level in elevation while off roading. not much air to breath, my car at sea level would feel like it was supercharged. and to be fair, most of the lift/tire threads do not mention motor size. A simple "yes you should have no issues climbing a 45+ degree slope" will suffice. -CHEERS

Also, I am rockin the 5 spd trans, Ive heard that they have a deeper low range.

So Ive been taking my '82 brat off road finally , the one thing i really enjoy is how well this little guy can actually climb! I'm ready to do my lift but I guess I wanna pick a tire size first. the tire ive been looking at is the general grabber 27x8.5x14. my question is how well can the stock motor push this tire? I'd hate to lose my low range advantage over the legacy in my group ;P Side note: after browsing literally hundreds of photos of lift/tire size, can this tire fit with a 2" lift and some trimming. not all 2" lifts look the same, im ordering from SJR. I'm leaning more towards a 2" lift in the front over a 4"/2" to keep the center of gravity lower,(+ less work/cost). -Cheers!
