I'm about to drop the subframe with Outback spacers.
-
I have a question... Is the Outback steering joint going to work for a 97 Impreza? Or do i need the Forester one or something else? I've read most of the posts and i see that some ppl are having issues with this, and there is no clear answer that i can find. Thanks!

Hi, sorry for the delayed answer. Chains are out of the question since the rear tires are very close to the spring perch on rear struts. They even rubbed a bit there when I first installed them but with some "fine adjustments" with a hammer, they were fine. Here are some pics after the 2" spacers:
-
They rubbed a lot on the plastic under fenders, especially on full lock and bumps. It needed some cutting + zip ties and still wasn't "rubfree", but it was drivable. I have this one pic from when i put them on: Now the car is lifted with 2" spacers (stock Impreza struts) and there is no rubbing at all.

I was with 205/70/15 on stock 98 Impreza struts. It rubbed a lot in the front, the back was a very tight fit. I am pretty sure that 205/75/15 will need trimming to fit with no rubbing. Post some pics when you are done.

Does anyone know if 205/70/15 will fit in 98 Impreza with no lift?
-
Thank you for the info! That is something that i didn't thought about.

The lift is not the problem. The problem is finding parts for EA81. These cars are very rare here and finding new parts is most of the time impossible, unless i import them from somewhere wich is very expensive. For EA82 i can still find some new parts.
-
Thank you for the answers! Well, i guess i was expecting it, but hope dies last So, my options are selling the car or going for the EA82 suspension...
-
I've searched for similar topics, but i couldn't find any. So, I have a 1985 EA81 hatch that I'm about to lift with 4". The problem is that it's almost impossible to find parts for EA81 here in Bulgaria (only oil/air filters nothing more). There are some for EA82, but they are almost twice as expensive than the EJ ones. Importing parts is not an option too. My idea is to buy a Legacy, Impresa or Forester and swap everything i can from them on my hatch. Is it doable? Any tips and tricks will be very helpfull. For start, wich car do i want from the 3 above? Cheers PS. Sorry for my english

Not sure for the year. I guess most of the EA81s were imported, 'cause they are very rare here. -

No it doesn't have the third-eye lamp. Some more pics with the previous, smaller tyres(195/65/15), I'm glad you like it: -

I think they are aftermarket RW-s. 4x140, 7J, ET45 -
Hi guys! I am driving an 85 hatch with 4sp. D/R and I'm lovvin' it! It's about to get 4" lifted soon, then maybe webber and some slightly bigger tyres. It's currently with 205/70/15 snow tyres. I am having a lot of troubles with finding parts for it, so if you recommend me a shop with good prices that delivers within the EU, I will be very grateful. Cheers

You have a PM about the blueprint for the 4" EA81 kit.
