Gidday, I was searching through some old threads and found some great info on Subaru Weights. Not entirely sure where this page should go on here ( I did a search on here - but nothing was listed ) so thought I'd share this link by Kostamojen : The Subaru Curb Weight thread ( Almost complete list ) : http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=915025 Might also ask Kostamojen if we could update it with some metric figures ... Cheers, Bantum ... Add : Thanks for making a sticky ... Note : That spelling is optional, Kerb in Australia ...

Color code for blue-ish green valve covers
Bantum replied to LeoneTurbo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Not really ... I'm pretty sure they all came out of the factory with same colour, it's more likely that they have faded over time, with heat & oil stains etc ... Add: I'd check that as it may only apply for Australian models, some later models here did have black covers ... Can you Post up a pic of yours to confirm ... ? Add : I also recall something about there being variations in cover colours for different capacity / type engines ... Cheers, Bantum ... -

Bantum replied to LeoneTurbo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
No ... but the Holts Dupli-Color Auto Spray DSH15 - Holden Marina Blue or the GM / Pontiac Blue colour in the VHT range are a close match ... Taken from here : http://www.ausubaru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23577&highlight=colour+code Add : another site worth looking up : http://www.paintscratch.com/touch_up_paint/Subaru/ Cheers, Bantum ... -
4x140 to 5x100 bolt pattern adapters
Bantum replied to matts87glsedan's topic in Products for your Subaru
Query: Are you offering an engineered or 'certified' product fit for registration purpose that complies with road regulations ? Otherwise you should add a 'disclaimer' on your cover page that these spacers are to be only used for off-road ( unregistered ) purposes. Cheers, Bantum ... -

Thanks... I wish, no job offers as yet ... P.S. The 3D model is now available on 3D Warehouse - I had to break up the file size to make it suitable for download though ... Currently the bed length measures in @ 1300 mm & 2300 mm approx. fully extend ( with tail gate down + hatch open ) ... I might do a few renders with it all opened up, just have to show it now ... If we pester Subaru enough, maybe ? To get some action happening see here ( this one is in AUS but I'm sure there others ) ... Cheers, Bantum ...

Ok - Time for an update : I've nearly finished modelling, just added some final trims & did some preliminary renders : Hope to do some hi res images in photoshop or similar soon ... I also might look into a 3D printed model later ... Cheers, Bantum ...

Gidday Subie Gal, Good to see that this car has gone to a good home, cant wait to see it finished ! ... Query - What are you going to do with the old motor ? - As I recall it had some unfortunate issues with it ... Cheers, Bantum ... -
Doh ... Someone else from here had the same idea ... The '78 looks a little odd with a shorter rear end ... Got any pictures of it being cut up / worked on ? Cheers, Bantum ...

OutBack Ute ...
Bantum replied to Bantum's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
Yeah it's always a compromise with a simple cut & shut operation - KISS was main intent here ... Do note that with the seat in this model you should be able to push it back a good foot before it hits anything ... How tall are you ? I'm 180 cm and have fun fitting in the Brumby, with the seat all the way back my knees just miss the steering wheel ... I might do an option for a larger crew cabin / tray on a longer wheel base model later, keep an eye out for it ... Cheers, Bantum ... -
Ok - I've started to put the results up on 3D Whore House ... Please rate it to get some interest going ... XV-Ute 2013 Still not 100% finished, but will continue to fineness ... Enjoy, Bantum ...

Small update ... Whilst I've nearly finished modelling the XV- Ute, I had some ideas for a more sportier version based on the WRX - see here ... Cheers, Bantum ...
-
Ok - I'm not sure where to put this, but here is my latest effort : This is based on the WRX Imprezza 2014 ? version due to come out soon ... For those who want a more 'sportier' ute version ... Cheers, Bantum ...

Bantum replied to Bantum's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
Ok - I've finished it for now ... So have posted the !st draft up on the 3D whore house web site for those wanting to down load it here : http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=6c0c57172fd7abd44357da6907c78a70&prevstart=96 Will see if I can get some renders done later ... Cheers, Bantum ... -
Ok, I found a few moments to consider some requests for a bigger version of the XV-Ute : This one is based on the current Legacy / Outback platform & should give you a much larger payload + a sportier look to boot ... ! Outback-Ute-1 Outback-Ute-2 Outback-Ute-3 Outback-Ute-4 Outback-Ute-5 Note : For an even larger version, click on the link @ bottom of right of picture to see the 'Originals' ... Cheers, Bantum ... P.S. - I might have to come back to this & fix up the links ...

Time for another update : Started on some interiors : Notes : Loosely based on the imprezza, not finished yet ... Mean looking front end : Notes : Added a few extras, see if you can spot them ... Rear end update : Notes : Added rear cover & tie down rails ... And finally something to go under the bonnet : Notes : Borrowed a few bits from here & there to make it, but it seems to look alright ... Cheers, Bantum ...
