  1. Most of us admittadly have walked down the same path.........The other are lying...LOL.
  2. Props to miles fox his video is the shiznit! Use the 3 timing marks or your screwed. The only sure way to check valve timing is remove the valve cover and watch the exhaust valve close and the piston at tdc. I would recheck the whole belt timing and such. I know it is frustrating but I have walked down your frustration.....I know how you feel.
  3. Does anyone know how much per inch the upper tower angle offset would be for 0 Camber on installation?
  4. What angle are the upper strut spacers cut at?
  5. Did two of em and helped a couple a kids with theirs....LOL.
  6. Went to Pull and Save and pulled three. I have two on the shelf.....
  7. Either one of you starts to tick go to the doctor....LOL.
  8. Awesome! May your marriage run and not overheat. May your marriage be lifted up and not lowered. Remember when your marriage springs a leak it just lubricated the other parts of your relationship..........LOL. Had to attempt to use Subaru analogies in my post........It is a disease...
  9. Install new hoses with white grease. Flush core both way with water. Previous owner may have used stop leak to cover up a head gasket leak and clogged the radiator core up solid.......... This was my experience. We ended up flushing it twice, there was some big chunks in there.
  10. There is alot of input here. If it is still not starting go back to absolutes. Recheck Timing belt installation. This can be confusing if you have not done a few of them. Like suggested above leave the timing covers off. Leave the plugs out. Remember the timing marks are the three lines and line the mark to the center one. Also mentioned above if you observe the intake valve close and exhaust valve open then that should be TDC compression only if you stick the screw driver in the cylinder and the piston is at the top of the stroke. This is an absolute. This will tell you if the belt is installed correctly on that side. Similarly you can do the same to the other side checking the other belt. I had this on my first rebuild and reset every thing step by step and realized I had 1 belt off. This difference between a fuel injected EA82 and a carb unit I found that a Fuel Injected unit will actuallly try to start and may even run. A carb unit won't. Merry Christmas...
  11. I r a heavy equipment meknic....I stand corrected...:-). In the future I will use the proper term. It is stll correct that you can't go too large or you lose performance correct? When I first made mine it ran like crap with not very much oompf..( I use the word OOMPF loosely) with the EA82. I went back down and it sounded better and ran better. I spent a lot of time on that exhaust....LOL.
  12. I know this is probable already thrown on the table but pull the hubs and check the splines.
  13. I learned this lesson too. Made it look really good too. Gotta have that crossover. Had to refab my fab....LOL.
  14. Your gear has to be broken on the rocker cover. In my humble opinion.
  15. I sense sarcasm from one one the lesser branches of the military.......... My military radar is sensing Marine.......LOL.
  16. You know fellows I am a retired NAVY construction mechanic, Heavy equipment mechanic currently and just enjoy learning from you all without pulling down your pants and trying to figure out who's is bigger. That is all. Carry on...:-)
  17. If you have not already fixed the problem great! If not here is what I would do. 1. Like the above poster said. Check your motor mounts good.... 2. Make sure when you install the next set that you tighen up the boots to the inner rib causing the boot to scrunch allowing more travel. 3. Make sure your not doing all this work and have shot struts causing excessive travel 5. Make sure roll pins are installed correctly. Had a buddy all he bitched about was his half-shafts. Told him to leave at my shop my son and I would do the next set. He was leaving the roll pin out cause it was too hard to instal......After we redid the mounts just so we did not take any chance and install the roll pins.....No problemo.
  18. This is very true. Subaru engines are designed to have backpressure.
