  1. No sealant on the oil pump gasket nor the cylinder head gaskets?
  2. Dude, the video is awesome!!!....it's both educational and the soundtrack is a killer!!!. Try Emperor and Meshuggah when you record the test drive. ...more
  3. Changed radiator to block hose and inner CV boot....considering a skid plate. 1994 Impreza FWD EJ16
  4. I understand and thanks for the info. I live in an overpopulated city, filled with traffic lights and almost no chance to cruise, I don't want to ruin the good MPG the engine offers. Believe me gas is not cheap around here. Point taken....
  5. Ook, I'm new at this.......is there something I'm missing about EGR, naru? Always heard that EGR is a device that can be removed from vehicules with no emission control (cat or smog test requirements).
  6. Proyect: Take apart the whole truck down to the last bolt and rebuild....that's the idea. The Weber is a "must have" of course, the idea of keeping the Brat "stock" is to keep it "simple" just the way it was designed. If someone can confirm that pics 2 and 3 are EGR related.......those parts will be removed because I'm at sea-level. Never seen those 2 sensors on pic 1. Until I'm able to take apart the engine, the "bump" on pic 4 will keep me wondering if the valve blocks are from an EA63. Guys, thanks a lot.
  7. Pic 4: Why is there a bump on the main block? Thank you Loyale 2.7 Turbo for the tech support....kind of dumb asking how to upload pics
  8. Sounds like you're loosing pressure on the fuel tank. Based on my own experience a worn out fuel cap can make your car loose pressure for the fuel pump to pick gas from the tank. Check the fuel cap. What about the fuel filter and fuel lines?

  12. I'm gathering info about an EA71 from my Gen 1 Brat, there are a couple of things I'm not familiar with. Tell me what you see.... Pic 1
  13. Thank God, we're on the same ship......getting info for a complete overhaul of my Brat. Been running mine since 93 and haven't been able to figure out what is this: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151289039051536&set=a.10151287049076536.1073741825.633381535&type=3&theater It's some kind of purge valve, should have been connected to that plastic tank you mentioned Tweek
  14. Guys, thanks a lot....although I found 2 NOS Tokico cartridges where I live, I was afraid I would need to do some mods in the future. For future reference, what can be done about the height adjuster when using the KYB?....no lift kit on my Brat.
  15. Are we missing something Bonvo? BTW, I used the wheel studs from my 94 Impreza and they're a bit longer as well.
  16. Regarding an overhaul kit, the EA71 does not have a timing belt or chain, it's an OHV engine. Very simple to work with, virtually bulletproof.
  17. Based on what I have read so far, 1980 was the last production year of the 1st gen BRAT. In that year both 1600cc and 1800cc was available, still a 1800 1 gen BRAT is rare. 2 trim levels GL (4 headlight) and DL (2 headlights). If you can put pictures, we can help.
  18. This one looks awesome.....it should be on a Mad Max movie....enjoy!!!!
  19. Whaaat?!?!?!......it got parked under and 18 wheeler or something???
