  1. i was wondering if felpro head gaskets are a good gasket for this engine and also if i can reuse headblots. i have heard lots of different things about both those so i figure i should ask here. thanks
  2. alright well for the sake of getting this ready before timberline opens i will probably clean it up to the very best i can and just throw it together . then on the side i will probably start building a fraken engine. thanks a lot of the help every one. if i find some where that will do it pretty cheap then i will replace the rings
  3. sweet thanks a lot. i will probably go that route then. do i need to hone the cylinder out at all ?
  4. so if i replace the rings would i also need to replace oil control rings or are those the same things . thanks
  5. oh well thats a good thing to hear . i will just continue to clean the short block and the heads up and i guess just re seal it with new timing parts and ect. thanks for the help milesfox and crazyeights
  6. alright thanks a lot i will give that a shot. i actually just disassembled that engine yesterday though and it had been running good apparently before that. i just bought it used. but there is already a large amount of scuffs on the cylinder walls . does that mean it needs to be honed or will it run fine if just cleaned and re sealed
  7. so today i removed the heads off my ej 2.2 that i am swapping into my loyale. when i removed the heads i saw lots of grime sitting on the inside of the cylinder walls and around and on the piston. also the cylinder walls are terrible scratched i would say. im not sure what my options are for fixing it or if i just need to replace it or what? . any help would be really appreciated, thanks
  8. Here are some photos of my car with the D/R tranny installed I began to disassemble my engine today . when i got the intake manifold off i noticed a lot of what looks like oil that leaked into the intake ports and on to the valves on all four intake ports. Does anybody know if that will cause a problem ? was it just bad intake manifold gaskets? do i just need to clean it up or can that cause a problem ? here are some pictures of the engine also i was wondering if this looks like it has a blown head gasket . my guess is yes is this a problem or just needs to be re sealed? Thanks a lot in advance for any help i am not to familiar with ej series engines .
  9. so today ended up being nicer than i thought it would be so i had a friend come over and help me install the tranny. I also hooked up the linkage and the driveline. Im pretty excited to find out how the D/R tranny will drive compared to the S/R
  10. so i have been busy working and the time off i get its raining so not much has got done . today i replaced the steering rack and got the tranny under the car and ready to be installed .i got the steering rack from discount imports and it is re manufactured . it says koyo on it and so did the stock one .
  11. took my wiring harness into SSI today so it can be trimmed down. i also picked up an EJ adapter plate and brought my flywheel in to get drilled out. tomorrow i plan on clearing out my work space and start tearing down the EJ so i can reseal it.
  12. got my EJ 2.2 engine yesterday.it is out of a 93 legacy auto. its a bit leaky looking so i think im going to reseal it before i install it . heading to u pull it to see if i can get a ECU and wiring harness along with some sensors from a 95 or 96 legecy manual
  13. search for it you will find lots of info . they do come in most turbo models and yes you will need to mod it to make it work in your rig probably
  14. so i brought my D/R tranny into GD's shop last week to get resealed . i figured it couldnt be to hard to do my self but i just dont have time with work and i would rather someone who knows what he is doing to mess with the tranny.cant wait to get this all back together

  18. so i am hoping some one will be able to help me out here. i bought a full set of white powder coated peugoet 14 inch rims and one of them were a bit bent on the out side edge . i have these pictures but im not sure how easily it can be seen . im basically wondering if i am able to bend the edge back flat some how . or how much it will even affect the tire holding air?. thanks for the input i already tired hammering it back with a block of wood and it didnt do much but mess up the paint
  19. i just ment that small elbowed coolent hose . if you need a picture i can get one up here just let me know
  20. There might just be a very small hole in one or the hoses for either the heater core or maybe the hose from below the thermostat to the intake. i have gad it happen to mine before and i couldnt tell where it was dripping from untill it was being revved up and already warm ?
