The fuel additive I swear by... B12 Chemtool. Pour a bottle of that in next fill up (if available where your at of course) followed up by a quart of Marvel's in the fill up after that -
Damn guys... And I thought what I did in mine was pushing the envelope... Some rigs will surprise ya tho, bout the worst I've done is haul a 78 Chev 3/4 ton with 2 350s and 3 TH trans in it's bed down I5 from just outside Olympia to Rochester (30 mi) in an 88 Samurai... only thing modded about that thing was the exhaust and a rust weight reduction lmao XD

If the throw out bearing is bound up creating pressure against the flex plate it will be acting like your foot is on the clutch peddle

Almost sounds like the throw out bearing is binding somewhere did you get it positioned correctly on the clutch fork?
-
Did you readjust the clutch cable?

Pulley tight? Belts tight? -
Wheel bearing? Hell mighta been a double edge sword... Wheel bearing or dragging brakes creates excessive heat which in turn warms the rim increasing temp of the air in the tire over pressuring (10f = 1 psi) breaking a belt in said tire causing a wild ride...

1. Some cars require a decent temp to allow for fuel atomization 2. Carb'd runs 8 btdc and will run up to 20 btdc 3. Just as long as the resistance values are with spec to stock, hotter coils work just fine but you only need to go hotter under higher compression I've been considering Frankensteining up an intake off an SPFI and running a single barrel holley 190 for shits n giggles never know right? -

Mines a 1987 carb'd as well, I think it's likely that something stupid happened coincidentally. Pop the top of the air filter, open the butterfly for the choke dribble a Lil fuel down her gullet n see what happens, not a lot table spoon worth more or less and give her a roll, don't try and force it by hitting the gas just let her roll, if she burps or fires to life, fuel pump is the winner, smack it up a bit see if it frees up
