Best looking replacement for brat tail lights

I'm sorry man, I lost this thread over time and just remembered that I was offering you those lights. I haven't put them on yet, but I will do it here shortly. I subscribed to the thread so I don't miss any replies, and I'll see about getting you those pictures. Sorry again. You say back left, you mean passenger or driver? I assume you mean driver. Unfortunately I think the passenger looks better. -

Best looking replacement for brat tail lights

I have a set of rear gen 1 brake lights (full assembly). They were the originals that came with my truck, lenses are cracked but fully functional. If you're interested I can swap in my good ones (haven't done it yet) to make sure they work and I can sell you my old ones. -
EA71 Water Pump Installation
lvsarge replied to Brett!'s topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Good job dude -
So, my CV joint was looking really nasty due to a torn boot, and there was debris in the joint, so I tossed the axle and am waiting for my new one to get here. I also picked up a new caliper due to a torn dust boot and less than desirable abrasion marks on the cylinder walls. Couple more days and I should have it on the ground again. Then I make the decision to finish the interior or move on to the rear wheels.

EA71 Water Pump Installation
lvsarge replied to Brett!'s topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
I might throw a word of caution your way when removing the bolts. When I disassembled my block, the only one I had one snap off (the head) was a single bolt in the water pump. Could be that mine just got weathered more than your average bear, but aluminum likes to gall dissimilar metals, so take your time going back and forth. Else you'll have to helicoil like I did if it breaks! -
Kilt fabric. What a great idea. I too like that seat, great work.

I much prefer silicone hoses to the stock rubber ones. I have them on my EJ257, but they are somewhat easy to find for that. May take some searching for your model. If not, rubbers will work, you just need to stay on top of them every couple of years to ensure they aren't cracking as part of your normal maintenance. As for clamps, I use worm clamps. Make sure to buy quality ones, harbor freight clamps are not meant for any kind of real stress. IDEAL makes nice ones, made for plumbing, but they can be pretty pricey. You generally get what you pay for in this department.

Big huge monster thanks and shout out to superpoo93 (aka Noel) who swung by with his dewalt electro-impact that made short work of that stubborn axle nut. Now, I can get back to work. Thanks again, sir!

I have the same brushguard/winch bumper for the front. I believe the top tubing is 1" OD. I will measure when I am home and have a chance to be sure, but it's definitely no larger than 1". I do not believe it is 3/4", but could be.

Takes some elbow grease. I use a spanner wrench for my angle grinder, it gives some extra leverage and makes it easier.
-
My 25" bar snapped. Hence why I got the 40". Superpoo, Thanks again. I'd consider Friday (today) but my wife is actually having a bunco party and there's going to be an overwhelming amount of estrogen in the house, so I am vacating the premises tonight. Sundays are sketchy for me.. Early is usually not a good time for me, either. Maybe next week if I haven't cracked it by then?

And a set of flare nut wrenches. I did not own a set of those until I got to taking off the spider tubing that goes into both heads.
-
Ha ha yeah this should be fun... Socket should be here tomorrow (I do not own any 3/4 drive sockets) I did try to heat the nut up a few times and hit it with my impact. No luck. Oh and here's that bearing video I made that never got posted previously And here's me making more work for myself... Driver's side, rear wheel well. I need to get this stupid socket before I end up cutting up the whole truck out of boredom.

Welcome aboard -
I applied also... but I worry that they are just looking for social media trolls. I am not on Facebook, Twitter, etc... I cancelled my accounts for my own reasons. I hope there are some things I can do locally.
