Thanks for the help subruise I have the new seal in and gasket on. About to get the rotten bastard back together.
-
This is where I'm at its off but need to know what side to pull for the shaft seal. Well I guess I can't upload my picture but it's sitting in a box in the kitchen
-
So I started on pulling apart my ea82 to replace the gaskets and seals for the oil pump and it got to dark out to continue. I have the pump off and wondering if I pull off the pully or the pump end?
-
So I have the oil pump seals and gaskets on the way. Have to remove the cooling fan and thinking of putting in an electric to replace it. I know a lot of people who think you can get an extra 3 to 5 hp for doing this. Does anybody know if this is true on an ea82? Any gains at all or just more wiring then it's worth? I have a grand am that going to the junk yard so I'd be getting the electric fan from it.

I have a 93 loyale 4wd. I want to see about putting a turbo to it. I have a huge classic subie junk yard not to far from me. Just wondering how big of a project it would be going from a tbi system to turbocharged. I'm eventually going to put my 2"lift on and get a set of 14" rims with a 195/74 off road tire on it and would like the little extra hp.

I have kicker 6.5 in front and 5.25 in back on my 92 just had to redrill holes in the back -
The pcv is only about 5 months old I've looked at my fuse box and didn't see a blown fuse. I'm going to try and clean it before I go buying a new cylinod though, money's been tight since I moved
-
So has anyone ever try and clean the egr valve on your ea? My ea82 is throwing a 34 code (egr system) I can't afford a $75 new one atm.
-
What ever you do don't try iridium plugs I had them in my 93 ea83and had a ticking noise that would cone and go
-
So I had iridium plugs in my ea82 and had a random ticking. I put in OEM plugs problem solved. Older engines don't always like new technology word of advice

Could have the caliper bleed valve cracked open. -
I have a 93 ea82 wagon 4wd push button and my speedo likes to stick and or just be off. In Wisconsin its been 20° tops down to -13° I can hit 30 mph and it'll show 20 on the flip side, doing 60 down the interstate I will show up to 75. I have a GPS and it shows me my speed but my milage is getting jacked up. Any ideas?

I put kickers from Walmart in my car (93 loyale) 6 1/2 in front doors 5 1/4 in back doors is what I did. Had no depth issues.

tool pouch snapped in below pass. side rear seat
drake13 replied to CarpeNoctem's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The pouch hold the specialty wrench for the automatic shoulder belt. It (the wrench) fits in a hole on the bottom trim between the front and rear doors. Had to find out first hand my automatics were dead when I bought it. -
So my 93 ea82 high idle with sometimes be at 1500 rpm And others at 2500. Its been between 30° and -5° here in the last week. It conserns me on the fact not only in gas but I've never seen a car jump that high before, 2k is the highest I've ever seen and that was on a carbed dodge 318 that was set that high. I also do have the check engine light on,it has been on since I bought it(can find a place to check it for free or at all). Any ideas?

well i just ordered my 2" lift for my '93 loyale from subarugllifted.webs.com tonight and found some 14" rims from a '92 Mazda B2200 to re-drill. car is going in to the shop tuesday for the rear wheel bearing (would do it myself but in wisconsin atm i have about 1/4" of snow and no garage ). i recently put on a thrush turbo muffler on (quiet at idle lovely boxer rumble when getting on the gas) kicker speakers in front with off brand in rear doors with a kicker 10" sub in the back and a jvc head unit. plugs wires cap and rotor a few months back, fluid exchange in trans and rear diff. curantly have new tires on it (well about 5 to 7 k on them) el cheapo off roading lights in the grill (p/o broke the grill). freed up the rear window wiper, it was rusted in place.
-
What kind of vehicle has 14" rims that I could re drill? I know every one says gm 6 blots but the smallest of them I have seen is a 15"
-
So then how big of tires will I be able to fit in it?
-
So on this coming Tuesday I should be ordering my 2" lift kit from Subaru gl lift, does anyone have any side pictures with the 13" rims still on it? I won't have the money for the larger rims and tires for a few months and wondering if it will look goofy or OK with out bigger tires. And with the the 2" lift what's the biggest tires I can put under it. Also with out getting pug rims what what 6 bolt rims do I drill out and use?

So I have a question On the ej build I have in mind. I'm was told by a friend to put a ej25 p1 block with a set of ej22 p2 heads. Was wondering what kind of HP and torque a set up like this would have? Seeing if anyone here has done this set up before. I have an old gen loyale that it would be going into.

Fair price for an '86 GL Turbo Coupe?
drake13 replied to Ziginox's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Truthfully it comes down to what you feel comfortable with. I have a 93 loyale 4wd wagon I paid $750 for, thought it was a good deal at first. I've put on new plugs, wires, cap and rotor, fuel injection cleaning service, exhaust from rear axial back, 4 brand new tires rear wheel bearing with new hub. The car runs and drive great new but from buying the car plating it and all the work I've had to do I've spent about $3000 not including the CD player all 4 speaker sub amp and wiring. My car still needs work. I only have 121000 miles from what it says but my odometer is reading fast so its more like 118ish. I'd personally wouldn't go higher then 750 or so. Start there and work your way up to his low. You get it cheaper then what he wants and he won't feel ripped off.
