Yes having built a few rails i can say a rail built with vw l/p front and a leaf out superdave book and done but im already down one road with my build and as soon as its done ill be building a mid engine rail ej22 but subarugears.com has all the stuff to go it right if you have the $$$. There is a cheaper way to do it with an auto trans if that is what you wana run just stock up on them as they are not rally up to a off road application. -

I too have had good success's with hho but me saying this open a can of warms some say it didn't work make you own opinion by playing with it but I've seen 75mpg's on non Subaru car and truck from 8mpg to 21-27 depending on driving condition and style...... Or convert to propane and have done with it or diesel engine

Here's my attempt at something similar it may float depending on the tires. I keep meaning to look into rating tires for floatation I've seen big quads float with the tires in running http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/140418-distractions/

Ok I'm going to hafta agree to disagree on this one ttb Dose have some draw backs but it has some good things too #1 is way better traction way more often and in the nw it rains a few day a year so going up a slippery slope its the best thing to have my stock bronco has been some place no one els could get because they couldn't find. The traction. Ttb also drive really nice on the road too! And on back ROADs its the Cadillac of offroad rides. Ttb takes jump the best too I've jummped mine well over 200x's and its still in one pics with that said the sas is going right now as I sold it to day but it wheeled hard with 33' tires for 4 years no braking of parts
