I cant cure my addiction. I recently added another roo to my family. I now have three in my driveway. I got this little turd for basically free, I traded a camper trailer frame for it! After a sketchy five hour trip we made it home! At some point in the poor cars life some tweakers stole it. The ignition switch was torn apart and the radio was gone. When the PO got it back it just sat in his yard for two years. Over that time the fuel pump seized, maybe it was from the ethanol degrading. No start. Through a new battery in it. It wanted to live so bad. So i listened for the fuel pump. Nothing. So i threw in another pump i had. Nothing. Wtf i know i have power! so i whacked it with a wrench, and it turned on! The car choked to life with a low rumble and black smoke on old gas. It had maybe been half an hour since i got home. I sputtered down to the gas station and put some fresh gas in it. the car sounded awesome. Later i found that it was only stock exhaust but the bottom of the muffler was gone. When i got home i decided to whack the old fuel pump just for fun. Sure enough it worked, Score!

Hey guys i thought id put this in one easy to find place. This is probably the simplest way to lift your subie. This is for a ea82 but the same methods can be adapted to ea81 models. To lift the front: Recommended but not necessary to function: To lift the rear: OR I hope this is helpful. I did not make these diagrams. Thank you to there authors. Cheers!

Will ea81 wagon drums fit on a ea82 wagon
kirzick replied to kirzick's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I measured the drums and they were the same depth in both spots i checked . So we will see. I only had to reset one self adjuster, the other drum just slid on. Both hubs slide straight on and bolted up know problem. -
Well howed it go? I really hope I'm ready for the next one!

I was actually just kidding about the ej20 swap, but it would be cool as hell! I do plan to start working on the swap soon, I just need to get the car rolling straight. I really need to find a parts wagon. I also would like to switch to a ea82 suspension, So I could stiffen it like brumble beasts right up. Thank you all for your support!

I have some six lug hubs and drums on wrecked 84 gl. Will both the hubs and drums switch over to a 90 loyal? Thanks!

Would an ea82 frame mount up?
-
Havent done the swap yet. I have most of the parts now including some sort of exhust( two used cherry bombs of craigslist ) just need a plate. I wrecked the damn thing in the snow literly the day i put him all back together from a suspention tune up... Remember to watch out for curbs when sliding around a highschool parking lot at two in the morning. He will be back on the road soon hopfully. Now im stuck driving this stupid wrx. Gah! Maybe ill just take the engine and tranny out of the wrx and throw it in the gl. All that power will unbend the frame right?

I'm buying a 91 loyal to make into a Wheeler. It currently has a 5spd pushbutton 4wd. I have a 4spd duel range out of a 84 gl I'd like to put in the loyal. How would I go about it? And yes I've tried searching. I know a 5spd duel range would be better but it's what I have. Thanks all.

What is the minimum lift you would be okay with tagging along?
