  1. yeah, i wouldnt think the bars would make that much of a difference either, that's why i did it over a bunch of tanks of gas instead of just a couple..and again, this is based on alot of highway driving...probably isnt as drastic if its alot of city miles....
  2. back on track for a second here...decided to take off the cross bars on my 86 wagon which i put 65 miles on a day with basicly all i-5 driving...average increase over 4 tanks is 5.2 mpg increase!! that is incredible..i now average around 30 mpg on my carbed 86..put the cross bars in the car in case i need them..increase in mileage drops a bit down to 3 mpg when i leave some windows down(no a/c) but i will certainly take the 3 mpg! thought i would share this news since gas in certainly not getting cheaper and come october my commute will go to around 85 miles a day and i will need every mpg i can get
  3. no pic...any color is fine since the car is a frankesubie anyway...kinda looks like the one in the loyales but without the auto seatbelts..i use to have two of them too and gave them away when i went to the dark side (jeep)
  4. still after that ever elusive high rise console that is not the loyale one with the autoseatbelts....
  5. :trying to stay calm:...any color, as long as its not the loyale ones with the auto seatbelt feature...those wont fit because of the bracket (i've tried)...be interesting if you do find one since the two i use to have also came from denver have a tan interior but the seats are gray/mats are grey so it really doesnt matter what color... now i will keep my fingers crossed and hope for good karma thanx at least for looking! alan
  6. aaaahhhhh!!!! its got the highrise right arm console i have been trying to find for a bazillion years!!! hmm, be kinda pricey just to buy it for that but dang! i really want one of those consoles ...sigh.....
  7. cougar i aint bright.. how does one go about checking that?
  8. while i appreciate all the input i didnt say i couldnt walk about driving..said my feet really hurt...bit of a difference there...no jumping to conclusions is necessary here...just would like to get my already in place cruise to work...
  9. well, my commute from lynnwood to tukwila 5 days a week is really taking its toll on my feet...they both have peripheral neuropathy and really do ache after the drive...i have the aftermarket dealer installed cruise where you push forward on the stalk and then click the end to engage but nothing happens..my mechanic says everything is there but it doesnt work and isnt worth the time to try and fix...but i really need it to work as my commute will soon be dupont to tukwila 5 days a week...any tips/suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated!
  10. here is that number for the mats.... alleghany motors in covington, va sonny wickline ----1-800-842-6185 direct parts line--540-965-0550 good luck!
  11. i just got an original still in the plastic set for my 86 wgn the other day...86 thru 94 will fit...they were$34 for all 4, including shipping from a subie dealer in new york...let me know if ya need a phone number...
  12. recently, after washing the engine, i couldnt get my 86 carbed wgn to idle...finally, i found a vacuum hose that was just barely not on, pushed it completely on and no more problems....
  13. not sure if i should post this here or in for sale so moderators feel free to move it....did a search and cant find the person who had posted wanting to find a black fuel filler door for their ea81...i just scored one in pretty decent shape so contact me if you are interested...
  14. more of a pcv size hose....its already open(disconnected)..venting...straight down....
  15. noticed when i was trying to find my vacuum leak that there is hose coming from the drivers side of the air cleaner...its around 6-8 inches long and points down and is open, venting to the atmosphere i suppose...can i plug it? i keep getting kind of an exhaust smell in the cabin and am wondering if thats the culprit....
  16. tell you the truth, little hesitant to drive it around town because of the idle/stalling issue..but, might take it on a bit of a highway drive tomorrow morning and see what happens...
  17. well, guess i will find other means of transportation this evening for work, unless someone replies within the hour about whether it would be ok to chance taking the subie to work and back will then get to a pull a part and check out some distys and or vacuum advance units and coils too i guess....
  18. update: well, decided to buy a new cap and rotor....big deal, no change....still will not idle until it warms up, and even then its pretty rough....also changed to a new set of plug wires....i really need this car for work but do you think i should chance doing my 62 mile round trip commute? have checked all vacuum hoses etc.... PAT!!!!! welcome back and thanx for the info!.
