Its a green, Sea mist green according to the colour label. Its NZ new i believe so possibly painted here? Found that the whole passenger side footwell was very wet so pulled the seats/carpet worried about it being rusted on the inside, turns out to be fine. So now going to clean what little surface rust is there and possibly spray/ paint a floor liner while all the carpets off?

Did a weber swap a couple of weeks ago, carb & filter from JAM engineering, Chris was really good to deal with and the cost + shipping was very good. Ended up making an adapter like nissan people do using two of the original holes, tapped the two thru studs on manifold out to m8. I thought it turned out really well (After I messed the first one up reading my drawing wrong). Cars running well and fuel economy is on par with the hitatchi. Picture of adapter plate http://puu.sh/aXdNd/fb2e33044e.jpg Also got my nudge bar blasted then painted it and polished it up in places, looks good but still needs some work. Also trying to machine the face of the alloy rims I got to clean them up, just a pain trying to work out the angles/radius of things.

Soda blasting might work for this? Have been thinking about doing the same to mine.

I like the look of them, not sure if i would prefer them all painted in the inside or not, might keep them standard for awhile then decide later. Haven't seen any made in or by stamped on them but i really haven't looked yet. So far cleaned up 1, mostly, pretty time consuming and i wont be able to get it perfect but a large sight better then it was to start with.

Yeah, was thinking they would have a sub name though. Not sure if its just Aus/Nz. Started to clean them up tonight, coming up alright so far. Ahh 300$ for the lot, so wheels+ alright tires, headlight guards and wipers.

Found a set of cheviot something (would like to know name) mags in 4x140 off a leone in the local subie wreckers, just need a clean up and maybe repaint black parts? Any suggestions on cleaning them up and getting them looking nice are welcome. Pictures http://puu.sh/8MT5z.JPG http://puu.sh/8MT7J.JPG Also got a set of headlight covers and wiper blades with intact deflectors. -Cheers, Tom

A few photos of my central locking install, a bit hard to tell from them i suppose But they might help a bit. Mix of front and back doors. Just used an aftermarket central locking kit, same as this one http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/other-accessories/auction-713436763.htm gives me remote lock/unlock as well but no remote start. all wiring for it (central unit to actuators already has connectors) just had to hook up constant 12+ and ground. I didn't use the mounting tabs that they supply, just tried to find the best spot for the actuators to push/pull the lock and where i could just drill through the door to hold them there, once i had the actuator somewhere i thought it would work i bent the supplied rod so that it would move the door lock, i decided to move off of a short vertical rod close to the outer edge of the door instead of the more horizontal long rod since i couldn't see how i would mount it to move the longer rod. I drilled a hole low down in the door and right where the wiring access panel is? near the front doors to run the wires, ran the wires across behind the dash to passenger door, pulled the carpet up down the edge to run the wires to the rear drivers side then the carpet to just behind front seats to run the wires across to the rear passenger side, was just enough stock wire to make the rear doors. I think the rear doors were probably the worst, but that might of just been me, front passenger was the easier and then probably running the wires was the easiest part. The kit also comes with connecters to flash indicators, fake flashing alarm light, a window rising output and a spare +ve trigger and a spare -ve trigger. I haven't hooked up the indicators yet and may not unsure yet. Mounted the blue flashing led in the dash next to the electric mirror controls. And when i say it was frustrating that was mostly due to me starting this at about 7pm both nights so i was still going when it was dark outside using a couple of lights. If anyone wants pictures im happy to get a few of how the actuators are mounted, keep in mind how i've done any of this may not be the best way Tom.

pneumatic height adjustable (with springs)
Tom0 posted a topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Looking for more information about the suspension on my car, (84 touring wagon with pneumatic height adjust). Since it has springs as well is the air suspension does it use the same struts/ shocks as non air suspension? Likewise with the springs? Asking because my wagon now seems to bottom out really easily with passenger/s or any load. If i wanted to improve it (even just back to stock) is it possible to keep the pneumatic height adjust or just replace with non penumatic all round? All info appreciated. Cheers, Tom- 1 reply

You cant just plug the ones on the valve covers, they are the PCV system, if you look through the weber swap writeup by loyale 2.7 turbo he explains how to route it all. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/142100-pcv-mods-for-weber/?hl=%2Bweber+%2Bswap http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/71510-ideas-on-swaping-a-weber-carb-on-ea82%C2%B4s/?do=findComment&comment=1027151

Been making some 8 spokes look pretty over the past week, sandblasted, primer, then a few coats of colour matched paint, set off with some center caps with new made subaru logo stickers (old metal ones were pretty shot) and a set of beauty rings to finish them up. Note: Pics are pretty large http://puu.sh/6Imlx http://puu.sh/6Impm http://puu.sh/6Imry http://puu.sh/6Imto http://puu.sh/6ImuG http://puu.sh/6ImvZ http://puu.sh/6Imx0 http://puu.sh/6Imzu Might get one of them all on the car, too dark outside now for it Last one of my steering wheel with subaru sticker middle, doesn't look the best but its alright. http://puu.sh/6Imxs Edit for the day pic.

So far I've found that temp is the easiest, then fuel since mine already read wrong. Speedo seems to be the hardest for me atleast tried setting to 0 but started sitting at ~10km/h or so. -Tom

Put a new steering wheel on the wagon. After getting the wrong Autotecnica boss kit from supercheap, checked trademe and got a HKB one for $5.50, up to $16.50 with shipping which was a good score fit perfect and feels a lot better then the old one. I'm partial to the angular look on some of the new hilux bullbars again, not subaru

Its JDM, not too sure about how original the spoiler is. I didn't put it on and I doubt the previous owner would of but before that i don't know. Yeah not planning on going too overboard with the dent, get it close as I can then a bit of paint so it isn't as obvious. I think its a pretty tidy wagon overall. Cheers for the welcome.

Had the engine out of my 84' touring wagon to fix the intermittent TOD (new oil pump seals), valve covers (heli-coiled the stripped bolts), and new clutch and pressure plate (stop the clutch slipping in 5th trying to pull from 80-100km/h ). Got the engine out no problems then had an annoying time to say the least getting back in. Replaced the dash lights with LED's and painted the back so it comes up different colours, (green/red up the fuel/temp guage, speedo and tach) couple of dim spots. Also did the corner lights with green leds, come up really bright now. To do list: Fix the back fender. Get my other set of 8spokes sandblasted to be painted white or matched red (undecided) the put them on with trim rings and centre caps. And that's about it for now. -Tom
