Recently my 2000 Legacy GT has had a loud squelling noise coming from the front when I turn the wheel. The odd thing is that it only happens after the belt or engine has warmed up for a while. Could this be the belt expanding or a new belt needed or what? Its just an annoying sound that sounds like the power steering is over-working its self. Also could it be something to do with the power steering fluid? Ben

I am getting a front end noise when starting from a dead stop at a light or stop sign. It seems to only be happening when the cars wheels are pointed straight. The noise is getting slightly worse as time goes on. It sounds like 2 things rubbing or a part very worn down. I was wondering if it could be shocks, but i think it is something in the steering or tie end rods. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ben

Today while I was driving my 2000 legacy gt I noticed that the wheels are not recovering to straight after making a right hand turn. It just stays turning to the right when i take my hands off the wheel. It mkes left turns just fine and returns straight. Is this an alignment problem or something to do with the universal joint on the right. An help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Ben

I have a 2000 legacy limited. I have been having a vibration/thump inside my car that sounded like it was coming from the back of the dash for quite a while now. Tonight i had the window open and it sounds like it is actually being created a brake or axle or something down there. The noise is kind of like a thump every second or so. It doesn't matter how fast the vehicle is going it still makes this sound. Sometimes the noise gets obnoxiously loud inside. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would like to get this fixed as soon as possible because I drive my car 150 miles to school each way every week. Thanks Ben

Subaru recommends changing your timing belt every 105,000 miles on a 2000 or newer model. Do you think this is right or should it be done more often? Will it destroy the engine on a 2000 legacy if the belt does break? I found that service interval here: http://www.cars101.com/subaru/subaru_maintenance.html Ben

I installed a K&N airfilter in my 2000 legacy gt limited a few months ago. Is it nornal to be hearing a rattle noise when the accelerator is pushed now? Is there a fix for this? This noise only started once the K&N was installed. Or is there another brand of air filter that people would recommend and not make the rattling noise? Thanks for the help Ben
