I would like to build an EA 71 rally engine for competition use in VHC. To be noted that accordingly to the F.I.A. homologation form of the Leone of 70s(A22L,A31L,A32L,A33L,A26L)are permitted only the EA 63 and EA 71 engines. Because of those types of engine are very rare, here in Greece,I would like to collect all possible infos, experiences, suggestions, etc, before starting building it. I have in mind to machining the intake ports of the heads to accept twin WEBER carbs, one twin on each head. I would like to know, also,if the EA 63 heads are most preffered than those of the EA 71 ones. Furthermore I would like to know in what models I could find 5gear gearbox, compatible with the EA 71 engine. In the F.I.A. homologation form of the time I saw that there is 5gear gearbox with the following ratios: 1st : 3.31 (43/13) 2nd : 2.53 (38/15) 3rd : 1.96 (45/23) 4th : 1.52 (41/27) 5th : 1.03 (35/34) and final drive(CWP) : 4.13 (33/8). Could i found those ratios in some model?

This car in NZ has the EA71 engine? I would like to know the way I could mount the twin WEBERs on the heads. These heads are special heads or could modyfying some original heads to do it? -

"Making a safe car that is fun to drive”Improving enjoyment by adding safety. “In an age where cars are more common and people who don’t drive become the exception, it is imperative that safety issues are not overlooked. Safety testing methods are sure to evolve and in the near future we may even develop cars that can drive themselves. However, I really would feel sad if people lost the enjoyment that you can get from driving. If the focus of such advancement is limited to safety and the car is totally controlled by computer, car lovers would never feel satisfied. I believe that the second generation Leone has achieved a high level of both primary and secondary safety and I hope that this car can deliver the enjoyment of driving freely.” Mr. Horiguchi realized that no matter how much you focus on safety, you must never forget the feeling the owner will get when driving. From now on, we hope to continue the spirit and enthusiasm of these engineers to create cars that allow the driver to experience the enjoyment of safe driving. Did you know someone by what model year and onwards, fitted 5-speed gearbox on the EA63 & EA71 engine types. I would like to know, also,if this 5 speed gearbox could fitted on both the engines as above,as well as the ratios of this gearbox. To be noted that I am looking infos(and ratios) about all possible 5speed gearboxes could fitted on EA63 & EA71 engines

where I could find some intake manifold for twin WEBER carb?

First take a look at the thin vacuum hose(from the advance regurator,on the dizzy,to the intake manifold) if it is broken, then you have to adjust the firing advance(by turning the dizzy left or right). Good luck....
