  1. I have 98 forester and found it easier to replace plugs from under car, however I have since installed 2.2 engine with nice easy plugs on top.
  2. I think you need to use newer turbo head gasket Gd talked about in other post, number ending in 604.
  3. Very good on light bulb trick,I have same problem on my winter rat so I take negative battery cable off when not in use.
  4. I sprayed everything, even took shifter cover off between seats and spray there.
  5. My 99 forester does this every couple of months ,l go under the car with wd40 and spray linkage real good.
  6. Thank you for the diagram,I have been having problems with this for ten years,so far this is the best diagram.
  7. I put a set on my 99 forester two years ago,but it is a winter beater I only drive in the worst weather here in the rust belt 500 miles a year,so far so good, under car is very rusty.
  8. My 99 forester shifter would stick,I then sprayed the cable linkage side of trans with wd40 from under side.
  9. Make a post as to who is good with Subaru's in your area,if it was dry, where is the leak coming from? Is it auto or standers?

  11. I think I would start with a couple of cans of dry gas and fresh fuel, non ethinol if you can get it.
  12. I think it is 140lbs. So you need to lock engine for this,if auto trans, have someone with prybar lock flywheel threw inspection hole, this maybe on your book.
  13. OK so back to your question, this problem is most likely because of not torque tight enough.so jb-weld and new key and good and tight has work for most of us.
  14. You should get a Haynes repair manual and watch some u-tube. Do a search here for oil leaks.
