help: 88 DL Wagon HVAC controls vac
mcbrat replied to mcbrat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
what should the 2 fittings in the green circle connect to? -
what all pieces and vac lines are needed for the HVAC door controls? I think I may have left something unhooked 5 years ago when the engine swap was done to EA81...

roof leak was a rust hole where the t-top "hinges". it no longer leaks through there, but I dented the roof right at the edge of the windshield (right before shattering the t-top) so now it's leaking in a different spot it's put away for the winter now, but I have my little 31's on it now in case I want to drive it. holes in floor are all "repaired" so it will not be freezing cold inside. really needs a clutch now.
-
well, I take that back, it does have the Hot to cold lever, but it's got pushbuttons for heat/defrost/ac ....
-
probably a mouse nest blocking it
-
I have no levers. 88 DL wagon
-
are the blend doors vacuum actuated? I get some heat blowing out on the drivers side, but not the passenger side. wifey not happy.....

For those who've been looking for stuff... The Subarus of the 80s site has returned. freshly re-organized, and still with some of the wrong spec info, but it's back! http://www.indysworld.com/subaru/index.html

thanks JesZek. Looks like the "stock" sender was a single wire, but I was able to get my ea81 2 wire to work fine. I hooked it up to the wrong wires 5 years ago
-
the 88DL was originally SPFI. I still need to get the FSM so I can look at the wiring diagram....
-
I thought the front trans seal required the case to be split?
-
Okay, got a 88 DL wagon with an EA81 in it. I think I have the right spots on the ea82 harness for the temp guage, but I'm not sure if the 2 blade gauge on the ea81 will work with the ea82 harness? thoughts?

13 inch tire discussion
mcbrat replied to Mechanical_misfit's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
yep, I just got some of these for Guido. -
yes, just the Brat left.... Hoping to add 2" of lift to it this year to make it more street friendly (need to create more space between the bumpstops and the axles, and add a steering stabilizer. and it's due for some rust repairs. still have potential for the SPFI conversion on the EA81, but just no desire to get it done. Traded the Baja off on a big truck and sold the '72 Chevy K20 I had. My first ever vehicle starting with an F, but I love it. 440 HP/860 TQ is nice to have 1 Subaru 1 Toyota (Scion) 1 Ford 2 Chevy 1 Pontiac

feels kinda odd....

Pics of power steering on SPFI conversion
mcbrat replied to bratman18's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
hey, I might actually finally get to this about 20 months ago, I picked up the EA81T PS pump bracket and pump I think, so that should be the last bit of parts needed... -
and I'm down to one soob now! don't think it's been that low since I bought my first wagon back in '98...
-
nope. still haven't done the SPFI swap, and not even sure I ever will.... I've got a weird noise happening now. bearings somewhere, but won't have time to track it down until June or later.... Roof leaks badly now too, so gotta find out what's missing there....
