  1. Morgan, the guy who just bought my 87 wagon, also owns my old '82 Mountain Grizzly wagon, and he wants to sell it.... he just put in a new steering rack, and is in the process of putting in a tranny he got from me.... it's got the 3" byb lift kit already on it, and about 140k on a hydro lifter ea81 w/weber..... not sure what he'd want for it....
  2. those are chevy 15" wheels (pre-88) I drilled the wheels, because I wanted to be able to switch back to pugs/soob wheels if needed, which I did, when I tradd off the Brat, I kept those wheels... they will eventually end up on my lifted 82,just not sure when.... fitting them: Idid a lot of pounding at the back of the front wheel wells (like 2-3 inches worth) and did a lot of fender trimming. probably more than necessary, but worked for me..... I never did any wheeling with it though, so I'm not sure if it was enough... or too much.... with those tires on, they stuck out about 4" past the fenders. had a manual steering rack in it,and with those tires, they grabbed every little crack in the road, so it was interesting to drive....
  3. how much work do you want to do? you could lengthen the linkage bar (cutting/welding) the proper way if you want it back to normal I'v bent the tab that holds the switch, and lengthened the top piece of the switch with a screw. it mostly worked... along with that,I bent the shifter rod down....so it was flat sort of
  4. looks like this for me: Tuesday: Zoo Wednesday: Pike St. Market and Seattle Center possibly Thursday: Scenic Train ride Friday: Admirality Head and then down to Shelton.... My Brat is in Hiding
  5. yeah, I got your PM. I'll need to do some test runs to see if I can cut the 2004 one. had to discontinue it for technical reasons and yes, I will have a lifted Brat at the show. (2 of my 3 are lifted)
  6. safe and sound in Seattle now. will be doing touristy type things 'til friday.... I'm driving a white 4 dr Yukon around with a "Yukon Cornelius" decal on the tail gate, and a Ultimate Subaru decal on the rear window....
  7. well, made it to CdA before calling it a night. cood driving. Saw EdRach's Brat heading east in the morning... also saw a Forester with what looked to be a ea81 hatchback rear hatch or a impreza wagon rear hatch, cut/welded in to make it a 2 seater, and it had a bed with a FORD tailgate on it.... sorry, looked fugly to me, but it looked like a decent fab job..... saw a yellow ea81 wagon with a brushguard on it in Bozeman I think....
  8. yeah, gotta love easy ones.... I helped another Brat owner (not on board) out a couple months ago. His brat had been sitting for a year 'cause it wouldn't start. cranked fine. he thought the IGN switch was the problem, so I brought down a spare for him, and it did the same thing. I immediately went and opened up the fusable link box. bingo bad link. switched out, and fired right up...
  9. settled in for the night in Gillette, WY so far, in over 800 miles of driving, have only seen 1 EA soob. a ea82 sedan.... (other than the red beast following me closely )
  10. very nice got any plans for the cap ?
  11. First Stop. Just into SD. WIFI at the EconoLodge about 10 miles out of Des Moines, my SES light came on.... but it's still running okay. trailer seems a bit squirrelly. might be a bit too nose heavy..... might have to back the brat onto it.... forging forward.... gonna stop at Mt. Rushmore tomorrow for a spell...
  12. have other vacations plans wrapped around WCSS7, so getting an early start. I'll be checking in as opportunities arise......
  13. what is hwy 101 like? do I want to haul my trailer with me around the horn, or should I find a gratious USMB member willing to let me park my trailer/Brat for a few days in SW Washington...?
  14. I'm guessing it's a 3.900 Viscous..... if the innards are identical to the Turbo Legacy VLSD, then you could use those stubs so it would work with the EA81/82 rear axles.....
  15. you are right. you need the ea82 manifold for a ea82 carb.
  16. we will be traveling up to Port Townsend and around on 101 after the show...
  17. that's realistically the GSR. They didn't call them RX's then... This one is a 78 coupe... I have some JDM brochures with several GSR pics and specs (in Japanese)... been planning to scan and post them, but no time to get it done yet... This was the first one Labeled wih RX badging.... it ran a ea81 with dual carb set-up....
  18. looks like you got a little more pressure on the door this time I finally got my trim back on after a little pounding....
  19. I like the 14" wheels in the second pic....
