  1. Mary, go to the Homepage, and click on the "Subaru BRAT" link on the left side... there's a "Brat Colors" page with tons of pics of stock and custom brats. also from the Homepage, if you check the "80's Subarus" page, there is a General specs area that has some photos too....
  2. I put new ones on mine, and it made a world of difference. they were pricey, like about $60 each. I've seen two types. one with regular thrust bearings, and ones with tiny roller bearings which were really smooth... I have some used ones just sitting in my garage... yours for shipping. you will need to compress the springs to get the top plate (what's left of it) off, and put on the new ones.....
  3. '85 was the last year for the jump seats. The '86 full line brochure doesn't include the Brat, as they had to get new pics of 'em without the seats, and the Brat has it's own brochure for '86, just like in '82 when it switched body styles... for all sorts of Brat info, check out the "encyclopedia" here.... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/brats/brats.html
  4. no to powdercoating, but they will paint up nicely. I sanded and filled in the lion with bondo on my old set of 15" pugs, then painted them to match my Brat. Archemitis has 'em now...
  5. and from the Subaru Fun page on this very site.... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/funstuff/tattoos/tattoos.html
  6. 2 different ways. either drill them out, using an old front hub as a pattern. knock out 2 diagonal studs, and the spare hub will bolt up to the chevy wheel. then use the open stuf holes as a guide for drilling the new holes into the chevy wheel. will look like this... (at the bottom of the page) http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/wheels2/wheels.html#modified or have your hubs/drums drilled and converted to 6 lug as seen here... http://www.subarubrat.com/6lugconv.htm
  7. '87 Brat - 59k '86 Brat - 86k '82 Brat - 95k Body, Engine unknown, but over 100k '87 GL 4WD Wagon, 140k body, 193k Brat engine '80 GL 4WD Wagon, 109k have had a couple with 250k....
  8. here's the link to the whole wheel page, so you can see all 3 style of wagon wheels. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/wheels2/wheels.html#wagonwheels
  9. I think because of how the hood latch mechanism works on ea82, you could do twin ones... one on either side....
  10. and you will need to get the weber adapter for the manifold you are using. the ea82 manifold uses a different weber adapter.
  11. the old ones with manual trannies like that can be flat towed without removing any shafts. just make sure you are in 2WD and Nuetral. and make sure the steering wheel isn't locked. lots of soobies were flat towed behind motor homes in the 70's/80's.

  13. should be a direct drop in...... as long as it matches the tranny
  14. the strut/shock extensions are usually part of a lift kit. you can lift the rear of a ea81 a couple of inches by making a bracket and fitting ea82 rear coil-overs. puts a little more wear on the outside edges of the tires though.... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/article.php?a=43
  15. yeah, probably not... though I have contacts who know of some "places" to go, though they are not official...
  16. and you can't get a pug in a 7" wide either what's the backspacing on them?
  17. t-tops Gen2 only... lot's of info here http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/brats/brats.html
  18. my 87 wagon with hydro-lifter ea81 and weber kicks butt.... EA81 all the way....................
  19. nah, I've got it covered..... I've got a couple offers of help from some NASIOC guys in DSM...
  20. okay, I've got a shelter house (Cottonwood #4) reserved, and there's 104 parking spaces there. There are a couple of different camping areas available there as well. I will be checking them out, then probably will do a group reserve. on weekends, for camping it's a 2 night minimum.... so Friday/Saturday night.... here's a link to the site. http://www.saylorvillelake.org/ will follow up with more info after I check things out a little more....
  21. 82 was the only brat that had the factory centerlamp. rumors of Gen1's are out there, but no brochures show anything, and they were more than likely a modification with a light off a 80-81 wagon/hatch that had the lights.
