  1. Professionally sewn and glued onto original soob steel rings... $25 each. includes shipping. this is a 80-84 2WD - 5 speed boot, in black... and here is what the 4WD 4-speed boots look like (sorry, no hi/lo shift boots) ***************** availability chart ***************** okay. I have the following in stock... (all Gen2 body style) 2 black 4wd shift boots 1 black 2wd shift boot Color Comparisons:
  2. but only the rear of the trans is higher, so there isn't that much difference. pulls the wheel back a bit... here's my config for the past year: 5" block at engine crossmember 4" strut block RX springs on front strut(+1") front struts cranked up(+1") heavy front bumper w/winch (-1") 3" radius rod (trans) blocks 3" blocks in rear torsion bar clocked in rear (+2" or 3" ) forgot to measure that one... urethaned motor/trans mounts I do have an axle that needs replaced finally, but it hasn't blown yet....

  4. maybe Brian> (84Soob)? I think I know who did the decal can't say for sure without a pic though.....
  5. I'm running 225/70R14 (26.4" I think) on a 3" lifted 87 wagon with a hydro lifter ea81 and weber carb. carb tuning is very important with the lift and bigger tires... with the fresh rebuild of the carb, I was easily hitting 75 on my non-adjusted speedo, which would have been around 85 (roughly). of course now that I have the Yakima rack and fairings up top, the wind kills me
  6. I think you'd be hard pressed to fit it in a '81 (Gen1 Brat). possibly a Gen2 (82-87)... for Gen2: bed is 60" long, then add the tailgate (about 15-18" I think... there was a thread on this a ways back...) 37" between wheel wells. around 53" between bed sides (guessing) Gen1 bed is approx. 4" narrower. not sure of length diffs.... I'm thinking a 400 is gonna require something bigger than a Brat....
  7. yeah, drivers door and front fender are dented and painted over badly, but there's barely any rust on the dented side.... the side you see has some issues in the rear wheel well lip...
  8. well, it was prettier when it was covered in dirt this one is definitely a off-roader, but man does it run! absolutely no shifter slop. seats are dirty (they had covers on) only 2 small tears in drivers side only.... I took some pics today after getting it back to my parents place... will post them after I get back home.... it's gonna need a oil pump reseal for sure! and it needs exhaust. it's gonna live up here 'til I clear out some of my other projects.... I'm gonna have a spare 4" BYB kit later this summer, so I think this one will get the kit.... It's got some really cool side decals, that I will model some new ones after.... it originally came from Elgin, Illinois, which would have helped keep the rust monsters away a bit...there's one fingertip sized hole in each rocker. I pulled the tailgate off already and trashed it... it'll just go into the pile with the body of the other project I worked on this weekend my Dad actually spotted this one nearly a year ago, and it took him nearly 9 months to track the guy down
  9. it's paint code 646 - dark blue taigate is done, as well as the rear bumper. right rear wheel well lip is rusted, but the bed is all nice yet, and only a little bit 'o surface rust on the rockers. doors are solid as well the left front fender and drivers doors have dents. I have replacements for all those parts though.... but roof between t-tops and windshield is all dented too... very off. no signs of rolling.... but the best part.... 59k original miles still trying to decide what I'm gonna do with this one
  10. yeah, the early legacy alts look identical to the xt6 alt, just 75 amp....
  11. No, it's a "Streetwires" brand (not made anymore) that was rebuilt. it's a 150 amp that has it's own ext VR that came with it....
  12. Russ, if you ever get down to DSM, let me know, andyou can stop by and check out my relay bank
  13. I've got a dual battery set-upon my 82 Brat. in the process of putting in a 150 amp Streetwires alt. (rebuilt, from eBay). have had the 90 amp xt6alt up to this point with no problems, but have only used the winch once (right Morgan ? ) One note on the dual battery set-up... I'm thankful I had a good isolating solenoid. my xt6 alt wenthaywire and charged out at 17+ amps, and fused the main battery inside the cells....
  14. it's for an XT http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/Literature/brochures/1987-b.jpg I have 2 different sets of NOS FF-1 tail lights, and they don't match that
  15. if you've put on a ea81 BYB lift kit, and still have the original bolts handy and labeled, can you please take measurements for me.... need the length and placement of the bolts.... mine are jumbled together, and I want to re-organize them for a future project..... thanks!
  16. did you check the switch? I had a similar issue with my very first ea81 wagon, and they (service place, before I did my own work) ran a new wire to feed the fan, but the stock switch still worked....
  17. they are not the same. it's pretty easy to change the blower motor....I have a spare if you need one....
  18. the 70's wagon you showed is a 504. it has the 4x140, but the 405 model has a smaller bolt pattern. will not work.
  19. stock ea82 wagon wheels have 5.25" of backspacing
  20. the particular JDM ea71 in the photo also should have hydraulic lifters.....
  21. the "gouge" to me looks like the permatex sealant smeared on it is all....
