  1. should be fine, but I'd take 'em off for your trips to TX
  2. I've gotten the dimensions from Noah to see what I can do... * you can always click the link at the bottom of my sig to see what decals I have available
  3. just make sure the pipe is big enough for the air flow... mine chokes at about 3500-3700 RPM's with the snorkel on... They used to offer a dual opening adapter too, which I thought about going to to get more air in..... (I didn't check to see if they still had it listed.)
  4. you could get a 85 RX sedan with a D/R....
  5. I would guess it's a typo. 84+ only had GL's... though maybe the 86 is a typo and not the DL.....
  6. more shots can be seen here http://usmb.net/gallery/album238 the parts are available here (though a lot pricer now from when I got mine) available here http://www.jameng.com/ near the bottom of this page http://www.jameng.com/products/index.phtml?section=14 I got 99010.457: DGV Weber aircleaner adapter 99217.090: K&N remote aircleaner adapter. this would work as well.... 99010.357: Redline remote aircleaner adapter and then I got the 6.5" one of these for street use, as the snorkel is too restrictive at high RPMs http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=531&prmenbr=361
  7. I think the NA autos were only available 83-85. and the 85 w/AT didn't have t-tops. (All Brats were GL's after 83 I think) but in 85 only the D/R ones got the t-tops.
  8. I do have another weber with a manual choke, but I just rebuilt this one, and it seems to work fine.... I just want to make sure it's plumbed in the best spot.....
  9. on the ea81, there are 2 small hoses that connect to the intake manifold. first off of the heater hose pipe, there is a small one that connectes to the base of the carb mount. second is one that connects from the intake manifold, just on the front side of the t-stat housing (the cold side) down to the little pipe that sticks out of the passenger side top of the block. currently I have the weber water choke plumbed in line with the second hose listed above.... so I guess I need to know which way the coolant flows through that second hose...? (without unhooking a side to see  ) I already know the first hose flow direction... but it was easier to plumb into the second one initially....
  10. there's only 1 place you can pull your own where I live (that has soobies)... 350 engine 275 trans 150 rear end 25 disty 50 door 20 seat 25 tail lights 15 marker lights 25 alt, PS pump 10 any brackets 50 radiator 15 steel wheel/tire combo 25 alloys wheel 125 RX body kit w/grill (no wing) the more you bring up at the same time, the more they'll work on the price with you.... otherwise, there area few yards you can get a ea82 from that they pull. $500... so any time I can get a parts car that runs for $250 I do it !!!!!
  11. Please see this thread, as you will inevitably need it http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12938 you are on your way
  12. ShawnW has been there.... just one guy that runs it, and if he has to leave the yard, it closes up. may or may not let you walk through..... didn't know what he had, and even argued with shawn about some stuff.... (maroon paint code availability by year I think)
  13. yes. ea81 = ohv ea82 = ohc your should both have ea82 engines, unless they were modified from stock (like my 87)
  14. thought I'd post this out here... i recently rebuilt a water choke weber (from a bmw 2002) and it's now installed on a hydro lifter ea81 with 190k miles. engine is installed in '87 wagon (orig ea82) with 3" lift and 225/70R14 tires. I also set the float at the "offroad" setting. I am running 155 primaries. (most are running 140's) I was talking to Zap on the phone yesterday, and I was doing 75 on my speedo, which translates to 85 mph... I was in 5th gear, and did loose some speed on the hills, but still kept it about 65 on my speedo (74)... not sure what I did right on this one, but it works for me
  15. yeah, it doesn't sound right... I had actually written more, then changed/deleted some stuff. just wanted to post out there that I like it set-up with the ADS....
  16. The weber on my 87 wagon has a anti-dieselling solenoid on it, and I love it.... all my other webers (new or used) have always had issues with dieseling unless they were dialed in just perfect.... (which I normally can't do....)
  17. sorry, I don't have one.... I had one I attempted to make with a graphics program a while back, and it's poor....
  18. you can put the RX springs onto ea81 struts..... of course it will lift it just over an inch....
  19. nope. when I looked into doing it, the clutch guy and I set them side by side to compare. the problem was with the diameter of the TOB. it would just barely contact the tips of the fingers. the later/larger TOB contacts the fingers further "down" (which now that I think about it would mean that the smaller TOB would contact it sooner, thus release the clutch sooner. (if the TOB's were the same thickness (which they are not), so maybe it's a wash.... SubaruBrat (Scott) had a spacer made to be pressed on to the '82 carrier with the larger TOB so that it would work on the 82 tranny... every one of the 82 4WD trannies I have had, has had some problems, or totally grenaded.... (blew front diff once, and another I lost all the keys tha held the synchros in place )
  20. Since It's lifted, it already had a extended pitch bar, so I used it, and the EA82 engine side mount.... but had to come up with a way to mount it properly. this may have been easier if the EGR was gone, but ended up being pretty simple anyway... I will get a pic of it later.... I am using all ea81 ancillaries. I had a custom hose made to hook up to a ea81 PS pump. I'm also using a ea81 radiator and fan. had to do a little cutting bending for that. there is pics of that in my gallery.....
  21. actually, this is the second time I've had 3 at once. previously it was: Current 86 Blue Brat, 3" Previous Mountain Grizzly 82 Wagon, 3" Previous Black 84 Turbo Brat, 4" so I'm maintaining the Brat/Wagon Ratio
  22. a little bit more tweaking tonight. founf the hill holder clip, and adjusted the clutch. also had to throw in a different alternator. Adjusted the choke and Idle, and it's running good.... will be interesting to see how this one does with the water choke... didn't seem likeas much of a pain to plumb it as I have heard......
