  1. I know that scenario works with EA81. that's what my engine is in my Brat...
  2. you still need the stubs, as they are specific for the "chunk".
  3. yes, and the stubs are available from the dealer for about $250.... at least several years ago they were. I bought a set for a 3.9 VLSD that I bought with them missing... were there ever any other 3.9 VLSD rears available?
  4. someone a long time ago had taken some Forester side tubes and added them to a hatchback... I think they were mounted through the floor with a piece of angle iron inside for support. you could drill holes through the frame rails for a strong mount point...
  5. more... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=92202&page=2
  6. and by installed, I just mean: In the engine bay, bolted to D/R trans, engine mounts bolted in. still plenty more work ahead heater hoses plug wires starter radiator & hoses electric rad fans power steering exhaust weber alt/PS belts fuel pump vac connections coil disty/coil/choke/fan/fuel pump wiring and probably more stuff I'm forgetting....
  7. I use mine for Jack points
  8. you don't want the 4 speed dual range that one has. you need the 85-89 5 speed dual range.
  9. I've got other stuff going on the next 2 weekends. might drop it in tonight....
  10. getting closer. had some other parts on hand, so as long as the engine was out... stripped down hitachi manifold and weber adapter installed new t-stat new coil new water pump different resealed oil pump (old one had stuck backplate screw that was stripping out) new NGK plugs 5 speed flywheel, clutch, pp installed need to cut the exhaust to rotate the flange yet, but pretty much ready to drop the engine in... and continue on...
  11. Where was it mounted? It looks like it could be cruise. It looks similar to the fuel pump control unit that is mounted by the hood release cable...
  12. Allied Armament. No. Current Lift Makers (I think): Scott R. - SJR Bill O. - BOSS (The Beast I Drive) michael appel HighGuys (Gloyale) Jeff P. maybe - One Eye
  13. those were an aftermarket 15x7 wheel in a six lug pattern. would fit Chevy's and Toyotas. I would not recommend them though. because of the offset, even with the 4" lift, to fit the 27" tires on there, I had to beat the snot out of it to get them to fit... and I still have that Australian Roo Bar for sale....
  14. I learned to drive in a '77 silver DL wagon with blue interior.... 2wd though... would be tempting to get this for my dad, but it would end up a pile of rust in about 5 years... how soon do you need the PS set-up John? I'm kindof accumulating a bunch of parts here for you I think it would be fun for you to lift it
  15. are you weber-ing it? that will make it the cleanest....
  16. I wouldn't spend any money on replacing drum stuff.
  17. The ea81 wagon wheels fut over rear discs fine. Its the front that rubs.
  18. I've seen some specific weatherstripping adhesive, but it was probably just some repackaged normal silicone adhesive...
  19. since you're taking a long trip, you may want to at least be able to add on the ea82 coilovers if you have a torsion bar break. I clocked mine one notch in my old Brat suspension, and after hauling a lot with it and offroading, I had it snap on me, and sag that whole side until I put on the rear coilovers. I've had 2 torsion bars break like that (one was not clocked).
  20. I've never had to plug it. the adapter and gasket cover it. but yes, you need to find a hitachi intake... I'm doing the same thing right now on a '84 engine with 106k on it.... I've been lucky in that this is the first CW carb one I've ever had!!!
  21. when I had mine ('80 GL - click link in my sig for pics), I got in contact with someone from the US Ski team, and there were hundreds of them over the years, but normally the decals were removed before they were auctioned off. Obviously some made it through without getting them removed... so no records as to how many white wagons the US Ski Team and the USSA actually ordered. The decals were applied after delivery, probably by a decal shop or possibly dealer... I got some original decals off eBay long ago, that were from someone involved with the program. a nearly full set of Gen2 decals that I sold to another board member, and some Gen1/Gen2 logos, (not the stripes). most of those have been sold too, though I still have a couple left here's the direct link for just the skiwagon.... http://www.indysworld.com/vehicles/1980-skiwag/skisoob.html
  22. for your cargo carpet... I have a good blue one from the last '84 wagon I parted out.... I'll get some pics the weekend of the 30th....
