Lifting the trans isnt normally a big deal but if you are leaning over the front of a lifted vehicle with the hood latch pressing into you its a little harder... Reasons for going with ea81: Only 106k miles Already had it. no timing belts No old electrical components to deal with no more worried about frying another ecu. Cheaper to maintain Easier to troubleshoot Upgraded to dual range too. 140k. Its in already. Just need to move the clutch/flywheel stuff over and yank off the intake manifold... Weber is on its way...

I think he yelled back at me. fell asleep last night and woke up around 1am and could barely move... I hate getting old ...

timing belt is so clean I could eat off it.... no cracks. looks like fresh rubber. got my bug deflector installed. my wife took a picture out of her window at work of a yellow baja. about 3 blocks from where I was with mine. it had the snuglid, and a bra on front. it was a sport model too...

Gen 2 power steering swap

John. I have a complete set-up sitting in my storage unit. it has everything you need. crossmember, rack, pump, hoses, lines, etc.... and you also need a long style t-stat cover... not sure if there's one in the box too, but I have one if not.... I bought mine from Jerry (Bratsrus) a few years back, and it's still sitting in the box... I no longer have the vehicle it was slotted for..... it's still in the box ... -
unfortunately I have a prior commitment that day....

the original owner traded it in at 104k. the guy who had it before me (for about 6 months didn't do anything to the engine, so I've been trying to find out service info on it. the last service at the dealership in MN was at 73k, but not sure what it was... it's got 109k on it now. trying to decide if it's had the headgaskets done, and maybe timing belt with it.....

New plugs, wires, air filter and wipers. Runs 100x better now. and defogged the headlights.

plugs and wires were gonna be my first route... the wires were OEM with FHI logo, but looked old. NGK plugs in it, tips looked about right, but base of ceramic had a lot of rust stains... so after replacing the #2 plug and wire, I took it for a spin, and all seems good now. so I replaced the other 3. used NGK wires. they actually seemed to seal better around the plug tubes, but again, I have no idea how old the wires were....

new tires today. had Goodyear Assurance triple treads on it, and the left front had a lot of cracks... now riding a lot smoother actually, which I was not expecting... Yokohama Geolander AT-S
