  1. I have this set, and seem to use it quite a bit... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7912708480&category=33563
  2. Actually, the new ones aren't available at the dealer anymore. The last one was sold through a dealer in Chicago for $75 to one Mr. Shawn Watson.... (though he does not have it anymore...)
  3. I ordered my tool on-line/phone from snap-on early in the morning, and it arrived the next day. no traveling required might possibly need a grinder. there has been some variance on this. when I did mine, I ground the required spots a little, then checked the clearances to put it in, and It appeared that I would not have needed to don any grinding at all to get it in. I just followed the directions here. (Old USRM)

  5. really? properly welded ones would hold up better than grade 5 bolted ones.... the stock subaru ones are not really very strong.... I guess I could consider my entire custom bumper one big bolt on I have 10,000 lb D-rings with the brackets welded onto my front bumpers, and in back I have a 2" reciever shackle...
  6. you'll need to do some serious cutting/pounding to fit those on an unlifted Brat.....
  7. What Ed said By using relays and new wiring to the headlights, and just using the stock wiring as the relay trigger, your lights will be much brighter..... I also had the issue of putting a later Brat tail light into the 82, so I went back to the 82 sockets with a newer lense too....
  8. I'm back home now. This week I'll be gearing up to get all the decals cut and shipped.... get your orders in.....
  9. I made it home. had to stop in Chattanooga for a little bit of Yukon service, but nothing really major nice to be back home.....
  10. if it's a byb lift, you can take the strut blocks out and grind a bit of metal off of them... grind off the red areas. this will make it fit better into the strut tower, and help the camber....
  11. Craven, now sure if the low range matters to you or not, but the low range in a D/R from a 3 door, may have the 1.196 low range like the RX has.... instead of the 1.59?? like the wagon has....
  12. mine is an '89 D/R, and has 4 switches. the 4LO and back-up switches are the samelocation as the earlier models. I have the 4LO hooked up fine. still waiting for a reverse switch. the others I'm just leaving alone....
  13. Just get an alternator for a 83-84 wagon. should fit exactly like yours does.
  14. 78TurboBrat. was it the SuperStock coil (same shape as the stock Soobie one) or the SuperCoil square block looking one. I've had 2 of the SuperCoils and hadnothing go wrong with them, but have had a SuperStock go bad when I also had some alternator issues. once I solved the wiring issue that was the root of all eveil, then replaced the alt, the new coil has lasted....
  15. yes. the ea82 trans input shaft has a different spline count, so you need to at least use the ea82 clutch disk (225mm) and release bearing. since it's an 84 Brat, it already has the 225mm pressure plate and flywheel, and you can reuse those. I followed the directions here: http://www.usmb.net/repair/?CurrentDirectory=FOLDER_3f29b58f50d9b8.15492800/&FileType=Article&File=ARTICLE_3f29b750a92b88.77574552.art when I put the 5 speed in my red brat last month, but I used the 5 speed flywheel and pressure plate. for the
  16. if both fans come on when the AC is turned on, then it sounds like somebody already modified the wiring to do that.... do you want it back to stock wiring? easiest way to sort out the fan wiring will be to remove the battery so you have access to the wires/loom and start sorting them out... if you want to get back to stock. somebody couldlet you know whatwires are for the stock connetor and thermoswich... if nobody does by the time I get back to IA, then I can get some pics from my 86. should be the same....
  17. made it to Jacksonville fine. almost had a highway incident when people in my southbound lanes slowed quickly to see a mess in the northbound lanes created from a watermelon truck losing half his load!!!! what a mess. I had to slam on the brakes, ABS kicked in, and I was able to swing into an opening beside be, and keep goign a ways, or I would have slammed right into the back of someone.... glad I had the ABS.... I think the trip back we are heading westand might hit some of the other southern states....
  18. I'm driving my white 96 Yukon. we won't be going that far south. my sis-in-law is in Jacksonville.... (butI'msporting awidevariety of Subaru shirts
  19. Chattanooga, TN tonight.... and free high speed access again. glad I brought the laptop
  20. it'll be when I get back. I just got more of the vinyl supplies in Thursday, and didn't have time to get everything cut. the USMB logo decals are a pain to weed the vinyl on. damn pieces are so small
  21. it doesn't look like I'm gonna have the time to make WCSS6 this year, but an overnighter might be doable... just need to okay it with the other half
