  1. yeah, blinkers all work, brake lights all work fine. voltage comes across the wire for the brakelights, so the wire is fine. I can dig into the wiring diagram now, but at the time I was 200 miles away from my FSM at the time does sthe stop checker have 5 connections in the plug, or just 4. the wire harness connector has 5 wires going into it, but the checker thing only had 4 spades sticking up... (not sure if one rusted off ... doubtfull, considering the shape of the others, but you never know...)
  2. okay, tested out bulb, and wiring. for the brake lights, both leads have voltage, like you'd expect... but for tail lights, only 1 has 12V, the other has no V.... when testing the other side, one lead has 12V, the other has about 5V. the bulb and wiring harnes is good, as I switched sides, and it worked fine.... the question.... is the "Stop checker" canister thing (behind passenger side tail light) involved with this? I cleaned the contacts on it as best I could but still no luck. it seemed to be have a lot of crud built up at the connection point...
  3. it defintely has a diff lock switch. has bad timing belt supposedly. won't start. Body not in best shape. $500 or offer.....
  4. are they white, or metal (like the ones on the wheels page)?
  5. remember folks, in the UK, they actually sold a 2wd, but they called it the "Shifter"
  6. the cable can be specific to the trans. ShawnW had to use a RX cable for his FT4WD tranny. the ea81 cable would not work. fitting was different
  7. actually Shawn, it has the lift supports, the glass, the gate trim panel (but that will be replaced as soon as I find a blue one...) I'll sit the old glass out on the deck by the side door. will keep the trim off it just in case.... do you want the old lift supports?
  8. it's done. solo. I opened the hatch all the way, and started with the top of the window which was down at that point. used the rope trick first, but when I got to the bottom of the window (highest in the air) it was working as well for me, so I pulled it out, and flat bladed it the rest of the way. pretty slick. once the lip was over the edge of the final piece, then I closed the gate, and pressed the window down to fully seat it. only had one corner piece come out, and it went back in easily... the old glass had huge areas of the defroster wires rubbed off, and this window from the back of a 84 turbo wagon looks to have all perfect lines
  9. flat blades is how Shawn and I got the donor out, and how I got the original one out.... I tried to convince my wife to help me, but she doesn't think it's something a husban/wife team should tackle, for fear of doing something wrong.....
  10. so not the same way as a windshield then? because that was trim into gasket. gasket on glass. rope around outside of gasket, and pull as installed (like how you describe the first one....) my replacement window still has good gasket and trim on it...
  11. it's a GL with the chrome trim inserts in the moulding... the donor is from a 84 GL
  12. Any thoughts, best ways, etc..... old one is already out. gasket on replacement is good shape.....
  13. have added them , plus your others to the wheels page.....
  14. !!!! ended upwith 15.4" in Des Moines. and it was a heavy 15.4" my snow blower looked like a playdoh machine a lot
  15. Brat rears set up higher..... these both have 3" lift in rear with suspension raised up an additional inch... and both running 27's.... http://usmb.net/gallery/album91/PDC_0334?full=1 but, since you are running the rear struts, not sure how that compares with the 3" PK/BYB rear.....
  16. yeah, looking out my window at work right now, and it's got to be 7 or 8 inches already, and radar shows no end in sight yet....
  17. I still haven't installed mine yet. I'm still running with one I bent back into shape Qman has been running one for a long long time, and I don't think he ever bent it.....
  18. I think we were on channel 16 last time out on the trail. will most likely post better info later about it....
  19. it's been nice out lately, all snow melted, in the 40s-50's.... today, 5-9 inches of snow!!!!! coming down ahrd and heavy as I type.....
  20. Meeky, do you need front seats? I have stashed above my garage 2 fronts from a 85 RX sedan they crushed from my local yard about a year ago... last I remember they had some small vinyl tears... I don't really want to part with them, but I might be coerced into it
  21. my turbo just did the same thing, and it was because I forgot to plug in the electrical connector to the MAF.......
  22. Eric, the blue switch in my diagram can be either 1 2 or 3 prong (shown)... just find a spot to ground it under the dash....
  23. good diagram sandrail.... here is another one from the helpful diagrams link at the bottom soob wiring help is a common occurance in this forum
  24. Mike, do you have the suspension adjusted all the way up? MtnGrizzly used to eat axles about the same, more often on the right side too, where the exhaust heat can affect the boot.
