  1. I'm thinking both battery and alt. even when it's running, I can't put 2 windows up at the same time....
  2. I've put about 6k on it so far... getting kinda used to gravel at 70 getting the most out of these tires before I go to the K-1 wheels and stock size tires...
  3. +1 the old turbo swapped '97 Outback I had, had a broken clock spring I had to replaced... gotta make sure it clicks hard...
  4. I think I'd go in the order you listed... due to your ordered needs... Tribeca Outback Forester The tribeca is gonna be the largest for passenger and Cargo, but less mileage... the new outbacks are pretty big now though too... We've got a new body Forester Turbo, and the turbo is nice, but on highway trips more than 35 miles, I need to use cruise because my knee wants to explode... and if my wife is driving, she notices it in her back after 35 miles... we didn't notice this really until we moved out of town and had a longer commute... with the seat raise as high as it will go it feels the best for me... with cruise, and stopping to stretch once in a while, longer trips aren't too bad. For vacation trips, we wish it was a little bigger....
  5. I love that you can pop start these at about 2mph time for a new battery and/or alternator...
  6. I just did some 'splainin because it's a Subaru Toyota mix my local club guys who live on Nasioc are voting for me too.... and provided I can get my Pergola done here quickly, the Brat's going back in the garage finally to see if I can build a way to seal up the half door for full time use... plus some other parts that have been waiting to get on... still haven't gotten the tire leak fixed from the last gravel run either...
  7. if it is all coming out the overflow, then you most likely have a bad headgasket that is allowing the exhaust gas into the coolant passage... I had that happen on Mtn Grizzly once...
  8. If you already have that wire, that's the wire that grounds the relay circuit to send power to your fan. you'd have to trace that one back to find where the original relay was if there was one... and yes, blue is the power for the fan, though by swapping wires around, you can make the fan go the opposite direction... you want to make sure it pulls air thru the radiator I suppose it could have been direct wired with power to one side of fan, then the ground side of the fan to the thermo switch.....
  9. you should have 2 wires coming off the negative post. one to a spot on the body and one to the engine... do you have any open threaded bosses on the block? the closer to the battery, the better.
  10. well, if you end up using a radiator that has the bung for a stock thermoswitch, I will gladly donate a new one to you... Good Info: http://www.ado13.com/techs/relay.htm Modified for use with the thermo switch:
  11. Chux, I have a complete PS set-up I was gonna put on my 86 Brat.... crossmember, rack, pump, hoses. basically everything needed for a PS swap. it's still in the box from Jerry in WA, so no midwest rust....
  12. Timber Ridge Trail Ride Sept 16-18, 2011 - Castana, Iowa Timber Ridge Ranch and Winery http://www.timberridgeiowa.com/index.html Hoping for better weather this year... Registration Forms available here... http://www.ci4wi.org/portal2/
  13. I still haven't found a decent gray. all the ones I've found are either too thick, or too thin....
  14. here they are... and the old color comparisons...
  15. the seatbelt light was not tied to the actual seatbelts. it was just on with the ignition in the run position before the car was started. once running, it went off...
  16. the early GL's had a red light for " Please Fasten Seatbelts". maybe an early version of that?
  17. could put a t-case doubler kit on, but that would only net around 6" it looks like, but would help a little bit...
  18. Cool, you got Aaron's Brat... he got the adapter plate from me....
  19. sitting as in hadn't run in a while or sitting: parked.
  20. 20 and 4 available in FWD and 4WD, (and 4WD unlocked Front) 10 and 2 in "normal" RWD
  21. http://www.oldparkedcars.com/2010/01/1978-subaru-brat.html Oregon Plates. Photo from May of last year.... hard cover has a few repairs and the louvers are gone from the rear window section....
  22. plus, not many folks are gonna want to put out the same money (or 4x the money in some cases ) for what they pay for a car, just to get a selectable locker... you'll still break the same stuff
