  1. the biggest issue wit Gen1 Brats and Wagons, is the independent rear torsion bars.
  2. running unregulated power will cause all sort of erratic symptoms... a lot of electronics will not work at all if they sense above or below "normal" voltages. Especially with EFI, the computer, and injectors all work off of differing voltages, and if you are starting out too high... First order ofbusiness should be putting in a good alt. I'll bring a good alt into town tomorrow... and I can get the rings from you... (unless you need to come get it tonight...)
  3. I talked to him last week. he's getting the old drivers door off my '72 Chevy... He's been busy working...
  4. you may need to grab another known good MAF connector... and splice it in. I don't believe the MAF is used for the idle circuit.... when "stretching the wires" you vould have broken the wire internally, or pulled something loose inside....
  5. have one for sale! stll NIB. I bought it an never took it out of the box...

  7. once I fix my leaking rear axle, it will make an appearance at work perhaps... it's 27 miles one way... maybe I should get some earplugs
  8. yeah, all documented in the Off Road section... No Nissan stuff though... Subaru Toyota Suzuki Jeep Lots 'o Custom stuff....
  9. yeah, been thinking about painting this one too... it doesn't look like it, but it is a little pushed in from laying it on it's side twice.... I do want to put the half door on, and I have some ideas on making it water "resistant" so I can leave it on all the time
  10. oh, I know... I still have things to do on it full float rear SPFI shift boots maybe some more trimming... jump seats paint touch up
  11. here's an earlier (much) photo of me and my Dad's '77 1/2 DL 2wd wagon... Based on the look of the grass, I'm thinking this is spring of '78 or '79. (we moved in '79)
  12. I've been holding off getting new tires, because in the back of my mind, I hear "lift the legacy" it only gets louder when I see threads like this.... thanks
  13. can you take the 1400 bell housing and have the mounting surfaced planed down to the same level as the shallower rib that looks like it matches the 1100 housing pattern? or just take a belt sander to it carefully, and use some good RTV when installing it
  14. and this thread would garner more attention if it was "Girls of the Subaru World Gone Wild"
  15. were you needing a front bumper? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/subaru-ff-1-front-bumper-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem1e5ca6a8d4QQitemZ130403444948QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-71-NOS-Subaru-ff-1-ff1-Front-Bumper-Chrome-OEM-NEW-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem588d3df502QQitemZ380326769922QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories or maybe an emblem... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUBARU-FF-1-REAR-BADGE-NAME-PLATE-205-mm-X-33-mm-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3f058d7de0QQitemZ270676098528QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories oh wait... you have one of them already
  16. wagon antenaa into the sedan... after swapping the brackets, and adding a short wire section, I had to modify the upper collar to fit in the sedan, but the outer collar and seal didn't seal tight... so I used a nice body plug from an ea81 wagon. cut the underside of the plug off, and then cut a hole in it so if fit on underneath the antenna part, and now it is nicely sealed....
  17. Decided walking in a swamp in the rain was not on the list today... What kind of alt do you need?
