  1. put seats from a '92 Ford Escort GT into Mountain Grizzly... they match really well too with the gl-10 door panels!
  2. seat came out of a 1992 Ford Escort GT like this one.... http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/3/1671/1801/29175900008_large.jpg all I had to do was narrow the hole distance on the soob ea81 rails, by maybe 1/8" and they bolted right on, with the soob fasteners.... much more comfortable.... and no piece of metal poking me in the back anymore....
  3. yeah, we are dry here... unfortunately, I have a storage unit in Ames right along highway 30, and I think it's under water at the moment... Items inside the unit: 9hp Snow blower, Brat Gokart body, complete ea81 SPFI set-up, lots of ea81/Brat parts, kids RC stuff. it's a 11x25 shed. not packed tight, but most of the floor area is used up....
  4. Type of Wrenching: Shadetree What: Old school subarus, and a bit of old GM... How long doing it: 12 years Other skills: Been takin apart stuff to see ho it works, and/or try to fix it for probably 33 years.... lots of eletrcal tuff... Also used to do a bit of woodworking...
  5. Okay, a few ground rules for this thread... Post the following items only. no commenting on the other posts, just keep it to you info. Type of Wrenching: (Professional, Shadetree, Maintenance). How long doing it: (years, months, etc....) Other skills: Anything else you do. (woodworking, welding, electrical, etc...)
  6. I like my wagon, because I can haul more than 2 people... can't take both my wife and son in the Brat, and while you do have a back seat in a hatch, it's not quite the same....
  7. I have a 4" Gen1 lit for sale in the Marketplace...
  8. the 67-68 Chevy pickups had a speed controller option. pretty sure it was on MTs.
  9. yeah' date=' it's been a great experimental platform for me over the last 8 years... unfortunately, there's not one straight panel left on it... [img']http://www.indysworld.com/vehicles/0-Projects/half-door/silver-door.jpg[/img]
  10. sounds like you're describing the ea71/81
  11. http://www.spiritus-temporis.com/cruise-control/history.html
  12. yeah, the good ol' days... that pic was taken in the spring of 2003 I think. I had cornered the Brat market in Iowa oddly, of the 6 soobs in that pic, I still have 3 of them... though the wagon has gone and come back a couple of times since then The '86 Brat is the only one that hasn't really changed....
  13. the 5 speed d/r was only available 85-89. in 90-94, the Loyale only got a single range. a lot of people interchange GL/DL/Loyale too though....
  14. I had it on my '82 GL 4wd wagon 4 spd D/R
  15. that page is wrong... I should take it down.... the 85-89 1.6 was in fact a ea71, but it had the fat case, and a different bell housing on it for the side mount starter....
  16. the last year for the CL175 was '73, and I've been having a hard tine finding any interchange info... looks like the 72-73 were the same... maybe 71... I've picked up a couple of things so far, but haven't done anything yet as I've been working on Grizzly and my '72 K20... picked up a complete wiring harness for the bike and a set of side covers primed and ready for custom paint.... it's at least in my garage staying dry...
  17. yeah, it's still there... I did put in a new acc pump diaphram on GRizz today, so now I don't have to worry about fuel leaking onto the engine the GT seats are still in the back.... maybe this week....
  18. new trans pan seal and fluid.... new door works great. dsh lights work great... fuel guage still no worky.... it's got a new sender unit, and new wire to the fuse box... but at least it shuts off now, when I tell it to
  19. the GL seats should bolt right in... if you can handle the comfort of options what did the Red Loyale out there have for seats?
  20. yeah, hit it with some pb blaster, and keep working it while gently pulling... resist any desire to hit it, as you'll most likely bust the inner piece... I did this on a 85 hatch once... busted the inner piece, and the outer came out... it then took me a few more hours of careful prying with a prybar and screwdriver to get the inner broken part/pieces out...
