this was my attempt at a rattle can. http://www.indysworld.com/vehicles/1984-brat-black/84bratgl.html Rustoleum Spray. maybe 10-12 cans. I don't remember any more....

well, in 1972 the 1/2T had a charcoal canister set-up. the 3/4T like mine didn't have anything...

nah... the topper is going back on for Castana, and eventually I'm gonna get a slide-in camper for it... I would only classify some of what I'm doing as restoration work. Mostly, it'sjust cobbling together stuf so it looks and functions better than it did... my rocker replacement is definitely NOT restoration quality

OK. a bit more done.... along with trimming the hedges and other yard work replace the rocker and got the new hinges installed, then the solid replacement door... after I got the door hung and lined up, then I moved on to a new window regulator. Now that job was a PITA. I tried following the instructions in the FAQ. not sure if it's because it's a 72 with the screw/brace under the vent window or what, but it sucked... cleaned up a set of door panels I got from DieselWrencher (thanks!) They had a woodgrain panel so the scrollwork was still perfect, and not faded/discolored. Then I used some Krylon Fusion pain for plastic.... I also have new black armrest/handles to install...

Documented: The 1970 FF-1 Project car...

no, but I think they are worth a try... since the thread size is the same, there's at least a better chance of them working than say trying to shove a 9/16 GM lug nut through -
BRAT with a "Sport" package
mcbrat replied to Twitch de la Brat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
in Australia, you could get a Brumby or a Brumby Sport. the Sport package was roughly equivalent to the GL trim package... -

hmmm. accelerator pump is leaking on the weber. I'll have to pull the one off the spare carb.... 'ol Grizz will definitley not win any speed contests... -

only open knuckle axles.

No. Not for event participants. But the local members at Timber Ridge can use them. It all stems from the insurance we need to get for the event. it only covers full size 4wd vehicles....

not from a '79 K5, but should be similar... my 72 K20 just got new ball joints last year....

You just need to drive Guido in a bit higher RPM range... Grizz is an absolute dog on the interstate, but still feels great around town... feels pretty zippy compared to how the Yukon felt to drive.... weld the rear diff in Guido, and let it rip.... I only broke a stub shaft once, and it was because I started bouncing when doing a hill climb... Though on a different hill climb a different time, I bounced, and blew both rear axles.... I used the remnants to rebuild 1 good axle, and had a spare with me, so I was back to the trails pretty quickly... One of the reasons for starting with 35's on my Red Brat instead of 33's was because I was used to the ground clearance of the soob.... since I'm running stock TJ coils, it's pretty easy for me to find lift springs to help fit larger tires should I ever go bigger... and one thing to think about, is tire prices for 35"+ have gone way up... I'm still running the mostly work out BFG ATs because I'm not ready to fork out almost $300 per tire for the MTs....
