I have had a new one out of the box that had the fuel "dribbling". it was solved with adjustments to the idlemixture, idle speed and timing... one thing Ifound, was that even though weber states the idle mixture should be 2-2.5 turns out, I usually had mine at 4 turns out... which means some of the jets needed changed, but I never went further with it...as it ran good, and I didn't care what mileage I was getting..... timing was at 12-13 BTDC...

what size are your jets? have you dumped a can of seafoam in the gas tank yet?

Unique wheels found for 4x140 pattern?
mcbrat replied to bgd73's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I saved the pic off for the wheels page.... I owned the gold 14" RW's for a while. they now belong to a local guy here who wheels with them. love's 'em better than the pug steels for their lack of mud retention.... -
There's something strange about my parts RX

ea81 wagons have the mount points for shoulder belts too. I had a set of rear shoulder belts from OZ shipped over and installed. all manual though, no retractor mechanisms on them..... -

hijack for general dyno question... if I want to dyno my lifted brat, should I put stock sized street tires on it? -

I'm not sure yet what gave out. I still drove it out of the woods, just no power to that side. axle is intact, so it's either the welds, or the axle stub sheared off cleanly (doubtful)... I didn't pay much attention to how it was welded. it was done by a guy in WA who used to be on the board. (I bought it welded already)

true if you set it up with a normal isolator. If you just run an RV solenoid switch (on with IGN), then the second battery is avaialble for starting duty as well. so if I forget to shut my lights off, or leave a dome light on by accident (like this weekend), it only drains the main battery.

yeah, lots of branches I washed off the top layer of mud last night in my front yard, but it needs a serious session with a high pressure sprayer. the tire size was actually pretty decent. I figured I'd lose more oomph with the 30s but I guess the engine and IGN mods are doing their jobs correctly.... though I rubbed a lot in the rear. rubbed front, back, and top of the wheel well and since I don't want to cut, when I do get new MTs I'll get some 29s.... the tread (All-Terrain) pretty much sucked. if it had been a normal dry weekend, they would've been fine. with the stickey gooey mess, I was on slicks the whole time. I found a lot of ruts to slide into having the welded rear diff help out the tread situation too.... well, at least until the diff blew on a hill climb. the rear started to bounce, and !CRACK! no more power to the left rear...

mostly aftermath.... link to the album... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=924 in the later pics, where the mud is scraped off.... I used a ice scraper donated by Chef Tim

was a great weekend! I blew out my rear diff on Sunday morning. was doing a hill climb, and the rear started to bounce, and !CRACK! not sure what exactly broke yet. diff was welded. left rear tire no longer powered. it was either a clear shear of the stub, or the welds on that side broke loose.... still gotta get the mud out from underneath it first... pics to follow...

I got mine from a board member about 1.5 years ago for $50

I'm running a MSD 6A with a SuperCoil on my 82 Brat, with a recurved disty. it rips around pretty good, even with 30s on

drove it to work today. it's definitely got more pop to it... had to slow down due to parked car in lane ahead, and the truck beside me was kind enough to let me into the other lane, and it spun the tires when I goosed it to get into the other lane....

it's an XT6 alt with a solid V pulley on it. I took the alt to a auto-electric shop and the guy dug for a few hours before finding a pulley that fit properly... now I just transfer the pulley between XT6 alts.... (mitsubishi manufactured)

EA82 flywheel machined to XT6 specs, XT6 Pressure plate, 5 spd clutch disc (XT6 is same)

yeah, the rear are from the old black TB, but the fronts tires are different. the backs are Cooper Discover LT All Terrains, and the fronts are Wrangler GS-A's. all are 30x9.50... and close enough for off-roading the coopers don't come in that size anymore, and the drivers front GS-A was a new one I found in a JY for $10. then I found another GS-A for $25. my MT's were getting a bit cracked and worn pretty good on the outside edges... These will be my winter tires, then next spring some new mudders hopefully. I've still got my MTs just in case though...

remote oil sender MSD6A multispark ignition 155 main jets in my weber XT6 clutch kit, with flywheel turned to XT6 specs 30x9.50x15 tires cup holders for off-roading... (boat type ones, though no pics yet)
